Best Western Plus North Haven Hotel

Great Location with restaurant, kids love the pool and the staff were very friendly. We stay for 3 days and all was good, Breakfast was nice, and the team were knowledgeable about the area, very close to Quinnipiac, we will visit again and stay here.

We stayed 3 nights in Room 270 which was surprisingly large. This is an older style hotel, built on 2 levels with a courtyard and large indoor pool and recreation area. The attached restaurant was closed but the area was used for the free breakfast. Staff was great and very friendly. Location is away from the downtown area but easily accessible. This property has probably gone through several reincarnations and the staff advised that it had recently been purchased with plans to do major updates. We would stop here again when in the area.

The room we were in had gross carpet. There were items still in the room, (lipstick, used kleenex, pistachio shells, an earring, etc.,) that cleaning missed. None of the rooms have bathtubs. The indoor pool was cool and not comfortable, no jacuzzi. The breakfast was not up to a BW Plus standard. The sausage was not good, the other hot items were cold. There were fresh strawberries and blueberries for the waffles, which was the one high point of the entire stay. We could hear the train going by and other road noise. The price was high for the quality we received. The agent who checked me in was very nice. She did not acknowledge my elite status and I was not even given a bottle of water. The internet was average. Our room was dated and worn. I would not stay there again.

A little weird getting here (through the parking lot of an Arby's!), but it was a decent Best Western. The room was comfortable though small. There were pharmacopia bathroom amenities which were fine. The fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud. There is an adjoining bar which is pretty run-down, they tried to have a karaoke night there but was pretty underwhelming. Breakfast is off near the bar area, but the dining area is very sad and the breakfast was what was expected at a Best Western; I expected more from a Best Western Plus. The gym is functional although the treadmill slips if you don't hit it right in the center. It was nice to have an indoor pool for a quick dip, especially in the cold weather outdoors (and I appreciate the front desk person running to get towels, despite the hotel being woefully understaffed).

No housekeeping services. When I returned to my room after 3pm I found dirty towels still on the floor in my room and trash still in my room. Also there was Mold on the shower walls. Mold can affect breathing especially to those with Asthma. It appears service is declining and this is disappointing to me.
