We checked in, looked around and left to go find another hotel. The smell of cleaning products was SO strong that my asthma immediately started bothering me. Listen to all of the reviewers that mention the strong smell- it's overpowering. We weren't expecting a fancy place, but it just felt unsafe. Carpets looked decades old and desperately in need of replacing/cleaning. There were cigarette burn holes on the bedspread. As a mom and kid traveling by themselves, it didn't feel safe enough. There is an attached Indian restaurant, when we pulled in the first thing we noticed was trash piled up all over the place, along with caution tape across the front entrance of the hotel. While the front desk staff were very kind, we couldn't handle the strong smell of the room.

Needed a pit stop on route to the Brownstone quarry, it was available on short notice. Comfy queen bed in a spacious room. TV, fridge, microwave & air conditioner worked. No parking issues. Standard road view. Hot ran hot, cold ran cold, linen was clean - the place is dated but it satisfied my basic needs. Reception was a buzzer away and provided service with a smile.

We needed an easy place to stay for one night and while a deal, the room was dirty, tired, worn out and reeked of smoke and pine sol. We barely slept and left before dawn in the morning. My guess is no state board has looked at the rooms there recently. That said, the owner was very nice and we did meet the infamous parrot mentioned in other reviews. If you need a $99 room in Middletown, this may be your place but keep your expectations low. We will be going elsewhere next time.

Arrived Thursday for Wes parents weekend. Smell of cleansers used to clean bathroom was overwhelming, like swimming in a pool of Fabuloso. A/C did not work, and the giant TV had horrible resolution. View from balcony was this, staring down on a sewer cover. On a busy road, so traffic noise throughout the night. I've stayed in worse places - in Russia 25 years ago - but this was close. On the plus side, bathroom was clean and rooms had fridge. Last resort spot in Middletown, in my opinion.

Reserved a room sight unseen and were not disappointed. Manager was gracious enough to allow us to do a load of laundry downstairs while there. Even met the parrot mentioned in other reviews. Very convenient to an Indian restaurant next-door. Would stay there, again.
