We were displaced from our apartment building due to a fire and spent the month of September 2024 at the Hotel. The staff was empathetic and caring. They went out of their way to help us. House Keeping was great. The free breakfast was always good.

We recently stayed here and were terribly disappointed with our room. We ended up checking out a day early to stay elsewhere. The window unit air conditioner didn't work and it was very hot. No one would be able to come repair/replace it during our stay so they gave us a fan. There are two sides to this property: a hotel side and a motel side. We stayed on the motel side, and it was exactly what you would expect from a motel: no elevator, doors open to the outside. The few outlets in the room wouldn't keep a plug in them. The bed was not very comfortable and the room and it's furnishings were worn and outdated, and in desperate need of replacing. The included breakfast was the best part about our stay. I would not recommend staying here on the motel side.

You know what they say,, service can make it or break it! In our case is unfortunately broken it! Service was absolutely horrendous! And I guess I have to attribute it to poor management skills, who perhaps hired some temp workers for the season, but it is unfortunately real poor choice. Our server was as bad as it could possibly be ,with our purchase. We were entitled to complementary mimosa drink upon arrival, which were not aware of, and she never informed us about it., we had to find out later when I went to a hostess stand in order to try to resolve our issues. I knew from the beginning, that because tip were already included in a bill, that made our server absolutely careless about the service she performed, we ordered a bottle of wine and she dropped it to the table without opening the wine with a champagne glasses, despite the fact that it was red wine. When I pointed out that glasses were absolutely wrong she disappeared for 15 minutes., after that, she brought absolutely disgustingly, dirty glasses and disappeared again, it took another 15 minutes when I could catch some passing by servers, I asked for a manager, which was absolutely useless attempt, So overall, I have to say it was not a good experience and I would certainly not recommend it to anyone!

I stayed here for two nights as part of a wedding party in August 2024. The grounds of the hotel are very nice and the grand entryway of the second building towards the back where my friends and I had a room exuded elegance. That being said, the rooms were small and dated. I donât believe Avon Old Farms Hotel has had a makeover in 30 years. For the exorbitant price we paid, the room ultimately wasnât worth it. Understanding this is small town Connecticut during peak summer wedding season, we didnât have much of a choice. The pool, though, was nice and we enjoyed laying out in the sun. The breakfast served each morning was very good, although for vegetarians and vegans, the options were limited to breads and pastries with little nutritional value. Various oatmeal selections would be a great addition. Bradley airport, just outside Hartford, isnât too far but beware that Uber/Lyft availability might be limited at best. If youâre getting married in rural Connecticut and you need a large hotel to put up all your friends and family and you donât mind breaking the bank, Avon Old Farms Hotel might be the place for you.

I absolutely loved this quaint hotel. It was a one night stay as I toured the East coast for fall foliage. They had a nice bar, room was nice and large and good breakfast! They had a fitness room, which was very small, however I appreciated the fact that there was one even if it only had one rickety treadmill.
