Hampton Inn La Junta

We chose this hotel as it was the only Hilton based hotel in the area. The hotel is undergoing renovation and our room looked like it had already been renovated. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and we had no issues with our stay. I did read reviews where people said there were railroad tracks nearby and looked at the satellite view of the area, and sure enough there are. I heard a train during the night, but I understand where there are tracks there are going to be trains. I don't get the point of complaining about when people can see the tracks if they take the time to look at the area near the hotel. I can't speak to how thin the walls are as we never heard any of our neighbors. The breakfast area is a typical Hampton Inn breakfast, which unfortunately hasn't been the same since Covid, powered eggs, no pastries and no cut fruit. If I was in the area again I would stay here.

Major renovations are taking place though it really didn't inconvenience us. In fact, I think everything in our room was new - very nice. Breakfast was OK. Not quite as good as I remember at other Hampton's when I travelled for work. The pool was nice for a quick cool down so, everything about the hotel itself is good. I thought the price should've been better considering the renovation and iffy location. Also it was Sunday and the two restaurants nearby were closed. Subway was open so we didn't starve.

Just what you expect from a Hampton Inn. Clean, good work space, well maintained. There is some renovation work going on but don’t let that keep you away. No real impact as a business traveler. Friendly front desk staff and nice check in snacks for Diamonds. The room has a fridge, microwave, and little coffee maker. I had a renovated room and they’ve done a very nice job. From what I can tell, everything but the shower stall was replaced, not that it needed to be. Other than that, every piece of furniture is new, headboards are new, fresh paint, new flooring, the whole nine yards. I’ll be traveling to the area frequently on business and plan on making this my home base.

Actually really nice for a Hampton property! Super friendly staff and fresh cookies in lobby was a nice touch!! Room was clean and quiet - only real downfall was breakfast! Went down when there was still an hour to go and there wasn’t anything left! Got the last bagel - looked around for breakfast attendant but there didn’t seem to be one- cute town as well- did not hear any trains as some reviews claimed- recommend if in the area

After checking in we tried to use some weird luggage cart but dumped it twice before we got to the room. Once in front of the desk clerk, she didn’t seem concerned enough to help a couple of seniors. Handicap room needs attention. No stool in the shower or a shower matt. The soap bar provided was a little larger than a quarter. The occasional chair was filthy and the floor underneath it hadn’t been vacuumed for awhile. This Hampton Inn room had the littlest refrigerator ever! Weeds were abound in the outside landscaping! Once I notified the was a water spill in the hallway(unsafe). She did nothing about it. Pretty cheesy breakfast, similar to something you might find at a Super 8. Also a car with parked in Handicap Spot with no plate or tag. Employee? Maybe! SPECIAL NOTE: Please replace luggage carts that are sturdier! Your are junk and not safe to use!
