This is a typical motel-style structure, on two levels instead of one, with parking right outside the door. The parking spaces were roomy and wide, leaving plenty of space between vehicles which was very nice. The room also was spacious. There was a table with a couple of chairs which were comfortable enough. The room did not have many electrical plugs; I had to use my big plug block to have enough for everything. The bathroom had minimal counter space, with a small counter above the pedestal or wall-style sink. There was a bariatric shower chair in the bathroom, so I put a hand towel on the bariatric chair and used that as a shelf for the toiletries which did not fit on the small shelf above the sink. The shower was just adequate, with minimal water flow but it got the job done. The beds were comfortable. Lighting was a little dim. There was a floor lamp and a lamp between the beds. Overall it was a comfortable room but I'm not sure it was worth the cost when compared with what I paid for other rooms on this trip.

This is clearly an older traditional motel which has been remodelled, but it served very well for one night. It is clean, and rooms are reasonably large. The price is reasonable. Breakfast in the morning is now offered, and it was adequate (cereal with milk, granola bar, a banana, coffee, plus a few other choices). The comments about the regular hooting of the trains during the night are correct. I was on the south end of the hotel, and definitely heard them; however, I grew up with that as a child, so it did not bother me. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room near the north end of the motel, or use ear plugs. The motel is only about two blocks west from the 'City Market' grocery store. I used this to get supplies for a picnic supper, which I ate at one of the picnic tables just across the road, in the small but nice Rotary Triangle Park. There are other options for supper in the downtown area, which is about three or four blocks east of the motel. Overall, this was a good experience.

This motel is remodeled and very clean, the price is low and reasonable and the family that runs it lives on site. The place is not fancy and not a hotel you hangout at for the day. It is a safe, clean and nice place to get a nights sleep and prepare for the start of the next day. I had a king bed, quite comfortable and the room had a table and three basic chairs. A great working and decent size frig plus a microwave are handy, as are the bedside stands with outlets to recharge phones etc. No closets or dressers, but wall hooks and a built-in to lay the suitcase on. Wall unit for both heat and A/C, easy to use and works fine, plus a ceiling fan. Bathroom is also remodeled and nice and clean, has a tub/shower with good pressure and temps. The room has a wall tv, which I didn’t use, but the wi-fi is free and works great! Free help yourself breakfast room on the second floor, 7 - 10 am, I think, coffee, water, hot tea, cereal, yogurt, packaged pastries, energy bars and that sort of thing. The motel is located near the highway and railroad tracks so you will hear train whistle sometimes, but to me it was no bother at all. Close to downtown Fruita, one to four blocks for a Walgreens, City Market, gas station convenience store, fast food and coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. Most people I saw at the motel were here for hiking and biking the mountain trails. For me it was excellent and will be glad to return.

Don’t believe the reviews, they are NOT accurate. Our room was NOT a room that has been remodeled. There were very few people staying at this motel. So, what do they do? They put us all right next to each other. WTF? Why not put a room between us, especially when you have paper thin walls (I can hear my neighbor pee). On the day of arrival we received an Info email. Bfast is 7 am - 10 am. However, when we showed up at 9.10 am, the door was closed/locked and the sign said bfast was from 7 - 9 am. Again, WTF? The email we received less than 24 hours earlier was wrong. Bfast items were better than expected. Strong coffee. Strong WiFi. Owner has a big dog that goes apeshit barking when it sees someone (it looks out a window), so hope you don’t get assigned a room near the office. Hotel also allows dogs, so we heard at least 2 other dogs barking, including in the middle of the night. I originally didn’t hear a dog barking in the middle of the night, but neighbor must have, and tossed and turned in his squeaky bed, then walked around a bit, which of course woke me up. Bed is a DOUBLE, NOT queen sized bed. Lumpy mattress and squeaky, and the whole set up jiggled when one of us moved. Room isn’t very clean…dust on bedside tables, floor hasn’t been swept/vacuumed in a while due to debris/hair on the wood floor. There’s also yellow (pee?) stains on bathroom floor board. Room heating unit cranks out heat. So much so, we had to turn it off. It would have been nice to have a constant white noise to block out neighbor noise.
