Holiday Inn Express & Suite Englewood Denver South

This hotel is a little out of the way, which provides for a very good night's sleep. The area is quiet except for the nearby private airport, but I could not hear any of the planes in my room. My room was well-equipped and clean/comfortable. I would be happy to stay here again.

First impressions were not the best, but they made up for it with time. The bed in the room assigned to me was not made so they upgraded me to a suite. Very happy with that. Breakfast milk for my cereal was sour; went on to the oatmeal - it was cold. The cups for the coffee were not replenished. Then when the cups were stocked, they were out of coffee. The rest of the mornings I stayed, breakfast was fine. The workout room was very roomy and had a water cooler—a plus! Since the room had large windows without any shade, the room got very hot by the afternoon. No bill was available online, called to clarify charges.

I stay in a lot of IHG properties and this one disappointed me across the board: not enforcing quiet hours, failed to clean room per request and bad breakfast. How do you ruin HI Express breakfast? The menu is the same at every hotel (undercooked bacon and sausage, very watered down oatmeal, pancake machine on again off again). The fitness room was good but overall not at good stay.

Newly renovated, but never seen such ugly decor. The common areas are nice and bright like other new HIX’s but the room decor looks like an office building stairwell. Wifi hardly works at all. No desk lamp. No accessible plugs for devices at desk. Small window installed so high up that you cannot see out of it when seated. Coffee maker not functional because it’s permanently fixed on a high shelf, so I would have to reach above my head to pour in water without seeing where to, and cannot see the buttons as they are way up there over my head… not only impractical but dangerous. In the lobby there’s a dispenser for hot water for tea but on five different occasions it wasn’t filled. The front desk attendant is rarely there…. Staffing so tight that the one single clerk is constantly away from the desk to tend to other guest concerns, and no other staff to assist. Elevator has smears and splatters on the wall. Mattress of top quality. Good bedding. Quiet corporate area just off the I-25. Despite the pros, I would not stay here again. Too little attention to details that obviously don’t matter to management, but they certainly matter to paying guests.

This was a good hotel for an affordable price. My only issue was my arrival, when I arrived to check-in I had to wait approximately 15 minutes for someone to occupy the front desk, other than that issue my stay was good. The accommodations were good an extended for an extended stay. The rooms have a kitchen and a lot of space. The hotel is a little outdated but very clean. It was a good stay for the price.
