Caboose Motel

If you’re passing thru Libby, MT and need a comfortable, quiet and clean place to stay, consider The Caboose Motel. I spent three nights there and used it as my home base while I recreated in the area. It was the perfect place to come back to each evening. It is centrally located and in town and within walking distance to a grocery store and several restaurants. Thank you for a great stay!

We were so grateful for the extra help that we received from Chinook, the guest attendant. After a full day at Glacier Natl Park and 4 hours of driving with no lodging reserved for the night, Chinook went the extra mile to confirm a room that had become available. And they offer a great breakfast. Recommend the hospitality here.

It seems like this place has not been maintained for years, and now its starting to be in bad shape. -front door did not close properly, visible gap allowed light and hot air through, deadbolt did not latch which is a huge security concern for me. -soft spot in bathroom floor next to bathtub, pretty significant safety concern. -room was warm most of the time, granted it was high 90’s during the day, but i feel that better insulated windows and AC System would easily fix this. -Incandescent lights above vanity put out alot of heat (keeping room warm) should upgrade to LED lights. -beds not very comfortable, first night was ok, but each night became worse & worse. Chairs look really worn. -office is not open 24hrs, only ice machine is located in office, which closes at 10PM. +mini fridge, microwave, & TV all worked well, mini fridge is on the small side. +nice selection of breakfast items.

Beds are hard and the plastic mattress cover is noisy. We had a dirty tub, and it smelled of pet urine. Yes, we have dogs, bit we shouldn't have to smell others before us, make sure to have better pet spray. The chairs at the table look like people peed in them, dirty and stained. The cover on the bed was stained on the back side as well. We then got up to have coffee and when the hubs unpacked it from the craraf, the coffee packets were opened, the creamer and sugar was gone from the napkin packs. All in all, I understand this is a small town, we live in one, but for the money per night, simple things can be addressed.

Located in the heart of downtown, right oh Hwy 2. It's an older motel, but my room was spotless and much larger than I expected. Comfortable bed, good wifi(but I was close to the office) Room had a small fridge, and coffee maker. Great desk staff.
