Thompson Denver by Hyatt

Should be a 3 star hotel at most. Amenities have limited availability breakfast starts at 8am. Valet is $64 a night and have to wait 30+ minutes to retrieve car. Bedding not comfortable, lobby bar is minimal with premixed drinks. Nothing makes this place special or worth the additional cost.

This is a quiet gem in the Hyatt family. I was warmed “don’t stay in downtown Denver, it’s awful”. And to my surprise it was delightful. Hotel is close to restaurants, Union square and all sorts of entertainment. We walked everywhere. The hotel is completely refurbished and modern. Exceptional staff. I stay in a lot of Hyatts, (lifetime globalist) this was a nice property. Thanks Hyatt.

I walked 7 mintues from the downtown train station boarded at the airport. The Thompson Hyatt in the heart of Denver's Golden Triangle [with numerous bars and shops] had every lavish accoutrement included or available. The wet bar and fridge in the suite's entertainment louge had top shelf beverages and an espresso machine. There was a retro record player with numerous 33 1/3 vinyl classics from jazz to rock [Beatles too] in the bedroom, with a sliding door for privacy and separating the large lounge with couch. There were two extra big screen TVs and a huge bathroon with many amenities. Robes, slippers, in-room umbrella, and clothes steamer were other luxury surprises in the suite. My window faced Market Street and the J.P. Morgan building.

The hotel is decent. It's in Lodo, right on the 16th street mall, and we were on the 4th floor, so we could still hear intoxicated or people with mental illness shouting/making sounds overnight. Also, there are a list of amenities that are included as part of the "destination fee", but these are not up to date on the website. One of the services I was actually looking forward to using was the shoe shining service, but I honestly don't know what they did by "shoe shining". I don't think any polish or wax was applied as there were still scuffs on my shoes. Maybe they ran a brush over it. If you're advertising a service, you should provide what it's supposed to be. Food at the bar and restaurant Chez Maggy were the highlights which made up for the otherwise uninspiring stay.

Excellent Hotel, which I would recommend to friends and family. Perfect location to explore Denver downtown attractions. We were there for bachelorette weekend and it happened to be restaurant week which we enjoyed one of the evenings at Chezz Maggie, great service and restaurant. Bar M was exceptional as they hosted us for a cocktail hour and the bartender was great as we were there from 4pm to 5pm.
