This is a great motel to stay at. The rooms are fully up to current standards. The hallway decor is a bit dates but not dumpy by any stretch. The staff are friendly and prompt. We arrived after office hours but the doorbell was answered right away and I was invited into the office. McDonaldâs and Starbucks are in walking distance. I cannot judge the hot tub because I never had a chance to use it.

Where to start? Well, it's definitely very rundown and unattractive on the outside (BADLY needs a coat of paint).....and about the same on the inside. The rooms are definitely dated-- old baseboard heaters, touchtone landline phone (with the very important instructions from the 80's on the wall on how to make long-distance calls!) and a Do Not Disturb sign/deadbolt attached the door (I'm guessing that's at least from the 50's or 60's). The decor in the rooms and throughout the place consisted of fully-assembled puzzles...in cheap plastic frames....that couldn't really hold the weight of the puzzle picture inside. So, some of the puzzles themselves were sagging within the frame and some frames were sagging too. Really....you have to see it to believe it. In the two rooms we rented, the terribly cramped bathroom had apparently been more recently renovated with new tiles in the shower...which was nice. What was weird is that the light switch (itself being old & dingy & decidedly NOT renovated) for the bathroom is practically inside the shower! I hold to move the shower curtain to find it! Heat & AC are actually controlled by a light switch in the bedroom that has written (in Sharpie) AC on the top and Heat at the bottom. Sadly, my kids didn't see it (& the Sharpie was rather illegible) in their room, so suffered with it being a little cold that night. Also, make sure to bring your own amenities. Both the rooms we had were stocked with one TINY bottle of conditioner...no shampoo even. Oh and despite there being "No Smoking" signs on the doors of every room, some idiot apparently couldn't read and the first thing we were greeted with upon checking into our rooms was the rancid smell of cigarettes from a neighboring room. Thankfully when we returned for the night hours later, they had stopped. And I noticed taped to the wall was a newly printed sign about the fine for smoking in the rooms! That's when I realized that when I checked in at the office, there was NO contract to be signed that stipulated any such restrictions-- just an old carbon copy form from the 90's where you put your info...that's it. But the worst thing was that despite having booked two rooms with them directly from their own website over a month in advance, the night we arrived....they only had one room for the 5 of us! Seems someone failed to put the other room into the system. And the nice lady at the desk apologized and said...."Sorry, we only have the one room. We sold out of the rest." We stared blankly at each other for awhile. Me in angry disbelief and she apparently in embarrassment and...ignorance? Because I think no one explained to her the rules that SHE is now responsible to find us another room, either here or somewhere. (I've worked hotel front desks for years and it is 100% the responsibility of the hotel to find accommodations for you once they've confirmed the guest's reservation). After a while of silently staring at each other, she FINALLY asked if I'd "like her to try and find a room for us somewhere else". "Um...yeah...that would be good" is the best I could say without launching into a rant about "THAT'S YOUR DAMN JOB!!" After about 20 minutes, she was able to find another room in their place (granted one with 2 beds as opposed to the 3 that I had wanted for my grown kids). But NOTHING in the way of apologizing or making effort to make up for the inconvenience they caused. Most incompetent staff I've met in 30 years of travel.

Terrible place. I woke up with bed bugs bites all over my arm. Called for a refund at my nearest convenience and they told me I'm lying. Also their walls are black and brown and their food is stale. Do not go here ever.

Weed is and of itself, a great spot for any traveler to stop and explore, freshen up, or rest. Having traveled through here over 40 years, this was my first experience resting overnight at this budget friendly destination. So close to Mt Shâ°asta, and a nice layover before heading north further North. (Or South, for that matter.) I do not rest easily when not home. That being said, rooms are very spacious, with peaceful energy that welcomes you to relax. I was welcomed by a friendly smile when I checked in, and appreciated that this was a local, family run business. Promise of continental breakfast đ âș đ đ was a sigh of relief as I didn't want to stress about my start the next day. The bed was so comfortable, ro.my. and I was delighted with the size of the shower. The local water here is very high quality, so it was great to not worry about hard water drying out my skin. Great TV choices, the security of all rooms only being accessed from the inside gave added peace of mind. I always travel with a service animal, and we delighted to see they are not only ADA compliant with service animals, but also welcome travelers fur babies. A small storm was coming in, parking was right in front of my room, very easy access. Nice table to eat and use laptop, the free wifi is a great bonus. Not to mention, mini fridge, microwave, desk and night stands. This is a great destination for family, workers, or vacationers. I really liked the loveseat nook nestled by the staircase by the vending machine and ice. It was a quiet place to meditate early in the morning. I'll definitely plan on staying here again. Moreover, grateful to support small business. Very worthwhile. I loved hearing a train roll through the mountains as it was time to breakfast and go. Kudos to the amenities outside as well. A park like setting hidden amongst all the other busy little stores up the road.

Older motel. New king mattress as great, but well worn pillows. I laid awake wondering if they washed the pillows, with dust mites in my thoughts. Carpet was threadbare and patched. We had to ask for cups and a bag of coffee, thank goodness we did that the night before because the office was dark in the morning at 7:30 am. No breakfast as advertised. We stayed on a Thursday night. But, overall the room was clean and the front desk employee was friendly. Starbucks right next door. You can walk to a great Mexican restaurant, Dos Amigos. We wonât stay here again. Caution: the light switch is in the shower! We didnât take a shower.
