How is this place still open? Upon arrival, there was a large puddle (not just damp, but PUDDLE) of urine by the bed; changed rooms but the smell of the rooms made us gag (had to open the windows to breathe); carpet is disgustingly sticky so had to wear shoes the entire time; black mold all over bathroom and baseboards of main room. After the 2nd night, had to change hotels for the rest of the week.

I am a long standing Marriot reward member. Sheraton is owned by Marriot now. We almost always love Marriot properties but this one really fell short. I will say the staff at the hotel desk were very nice but the property itself is very rundown. Everywhere you can see needed polising and shining. Chipped paint throughout. This property is probably from the 1970s. While some upgrades have been made they need to do much much more to be commanding the prices they get. Here's some things to think about before you book. 1. The rooms have a Motel 6 feeling to them. They are very simple. For example in our king size bedroom there was no dressers at all for clothes to be put in. All that was offered was one small luggage rack. We had to live out of our suitcases the entire time as there is no place to store clothes. 2. The room has a king bed and two upholstered chairs. I will say the chairs were comfortable but this room is just ugly. Its not a nice room design wise at all. 3. The lighting is horrific! It is so dim that its hard to read by a chair or even see at night. I have included a photo of the horrible lights provided next to the bed with bare bulbs showing. Who in their right mind would install lamps with bare bulbs? We had to put towels over them or the light was so terrible to the eyes. They had taken the carpeting out and replaced with a vinyl floor much like a Motel six. Not exactly comfortable to walk on. You better bring slippers or flip flops. Its just an ugly room you don't want to spend any time in. 4. The hotel does provide a nice coffee service in the lobby but it doesn't come out until about 7am. Hello many of us are up earlier. 5. The coffee maker in the room is such a cheap piece of junk it was unusable. I've never seen a coffee maker that had a flimsy plastic drip cup. How does this even work? We were very unhappy with it. 6. The fridge in the room was the size of a dorm room fridge. You can barely fit anything in it. 7. There is an outdoor courtyard that is really messy and not nice at all. The doors are kept open all day so the halls are really cold most of the time. 8. We honestly regretted not staying in the local Motel 6 instead of using our hard earned points to stay in this old rundown property. 9. The location is really great so its too bad this property is so rundown. 10. The breakfast buffet is very good but there was so much confusion about how you pay for it and where you are supposed to eat it. We were told we could not sit in the restaurant since there was a conference there. I would think twice before you book here. The property doesn't add up to the price charged. We won't be staying here ever again.

Located on Schooner Drive right on Ventura Harbor, the Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort proved to be very convenient launch point for our visit to Channel Islands National Park as it is only about a 5-minute drive to Island Packers, where you board the boat to the islands. My wife and I stayed there one night in late February 2025. Our room (room 336) was clean and spacious; the plumbing, air conditioning, appliances, flat screen television and complimentary wireless Internet were all in good working order, and the king bed was very comfortable. One element of the room design we really appreciated was that the vanity was separate from the bathroom. Another big plus was that our balcony had a nice view of Ventura Harbor. The room also had enough electrical outlets and USB ports to charge our many electronic devices. This is not a new hotel, but the grounds and common areas appear to be in good repair. There is a restaurant, a conference center, an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a basketball court. They do not offer a complimentary breakfast, but breakfast service is available at their restaurant. NOTE that there is a fee for overnight parking. The front desk and restaurant staffs were friendly and helpful, and the room rate was fair for what we received. If you’re staying in the Ventura area, particularly if you have plans in the harbor area, the Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort is a solid choice.

This hotel needs to be shut down by Marriot or released from their property. The bathroom doors hit the counter and cant fully open. The staff is rude. The property is in total disrepair, wires falling out of the wall. Paint falling off the door.

My wife and I just spent three nights at this property, and I have quite a bit to say about it -- not ALL bad, but taking away TWO dots is a very rare scenario for me. First the good stuff: the staff is TERRIFIC. We arrived just a little before 2 pm to check in, and Scott at the front desk made sure our room, which was still being cleaned, was ready ASAP. After only a few minutes, we were checked in. Jorge in the restaurant was responsible for our continental breakfasts, and he was quick and efficient, whether we ate there or asked for it to go (which is an option). Speaking of which, the continental breakfast was substantial -- a large serving of diced fruit, a toasted croissant, and a WARM muffin. It was plenty of food with which to get the day started. Finally, the waterfront location is perfect if your destination is the Channel Islands NP, as ours was, and it isn't too far from other necessities like Target. Now the not so great stuff: as many other recent reviewers have noted, this property is showing its age. The lobby is fine, but odd -- more like a ski lodge than a beachfront resort. We were in Suite 132, and this is where it gets REALLY weird, and a bit sad. It's clear that our room was designed as a hospitality suite -- it was huge. Despite this, there were only the furnishings of a standard room, making it look desolate. What had clearly been a full kitchenette had been truncated to a microwave / mini-fridge / coffeemaker area. There was a "desk", seemingly made up of two sawhorses and a piece of black plywood, hidden away in an unlit corner as if being punished. The overhead light fixtures installed on the very low ceilings were banks of fluorescent tubes one would see illuminating the aforementioned Target. The HVAC consisted of two wall units with indecipherable controls. The fireplace is activated by a push-button located -- wait for it -- INSIDE the fireplace, requiring one to either get burned turning it off, or use a fire-resistant implement to do so. This suite is on the first floor, so our view was... well, non-existent. There are very few right angles in Suite 132, leading us to believe that combined with the inexplicable lighting scheme, a Feng Shui master would, upon entering, suffer a massive stroke, possibly resulting in total cranial detonation. It's that bad. Then there is just the overall heavy wear on everything in the room -- it was, in short, run down. I'm not a hotel snob. The door locked, the bed was comfortable, and the mini-fridge worked, so it was adequate for relaxation and recovery between sightseeing outings. It is not, however, a top of the line property, so *caveat emptor*.
