Towneplace Suites By Marriott Tehachapi

The hotel itself is just fine on the same model as all of the TownPlace Suites. It is the management that probably needs to train all employees on the details. I made our reservation on the phone about 1 week before we stayed. The woman who took the reservation was very nice and helpful; however, when we arrived after a long drive with our dog, not only was the room on the corner that we booked not identified on our reservation but we were shown to a room that was not made up. It should also have been made clear that a corner room was a disability room. I do not blame the woman who was on duty; rather, it was whoever said we were " all set." This check-in was not up to Marriott quality and should be addressed. We were in our second room about 30 minutes after arriving. The night clerk did her best. On another note, the hot water takes about 10 minutes to arrive in the room. In short, we most likely will not stay again at this hotel even though we drive back and forth from the Bay Area to Arizona and it is such a convenient place to stay.

Recently stayed for one night. Very nice stay. At check in, the one front desk staff member was helping someone on the phone. Justin was working the bar and noticed I was standing waiting. Left the bar and came over and got me checked in. Very helpful. Room was large, clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was very good. WIFI worked well and good hot water in shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will be in the area again in a few months for business and plan on staying there again.

Well, if anyone should know how lovely hotel this is, it should be me. I recently facilitated lodging for my company at this property and worked extensively with the very competent, accommodating, cheerful staff. I have zero complaints. My room was extremely comfortable. The Elfa unit in the closet afforded a fabulous way to stay organized as well as pack and unpack easily, the modern kitchen was an absolute joy, the shower was plenty warm, my bed was cozy, and our team had a hot full breakfast each of our three mornings there. The hotel was packed, thanks to us, and I didn't hear a peep out any other guests near my room. It's a practically brand-new hotel and it was clean and the color scheme was soothing. I read some of these other reviews and the random problems people had and, not to invalidate their personal experiences, it's too bad they bring down the ratings for this Excellent hotel - and I can speak for my entire team of 50+ folks. I hope this hotel gets their flowers over time.

TownePlace Suites Tehachapi is the Marriott version of a "Motel 6". We were booked 4/7/2024 for 1 night stay traveling to our vacation resort (12 hour drive too long) and 1 night stay returning to our home. We cancelled the return stay. Our showers were less than luke warm (they need to ditch the temperature regulator when it's freezing cold outside and you need a hot shower to warm up or take a hot bath and relax; barely luke warm water is not acceptable). They advertise a "hot" breakfast but their morning breakfast met us with COLD dried out sausage patties, COLD eggs and an orange juice machine that had thick, concentrated orange juice with no water added and warm milk that had been sitting out for several hours. This was 30 minutes BEFORE they were to close their buffet breakfast area. No employee in attendance for cleaning counter area and when she did finally show up, she made sure to fix herself a huge waffle and take it to the back to eat without addressing the needs of the guests and maintaining the breakfast bar area. And their inside pool was closed during otherwise normal use hours - so that wasn't even available to use. SHAME ON YOU MARRIOTT - your members/guests expect more than Motel 6 at expensive pricing - and you adverside this as "entirely new" in Tehachapi. This is the second time we have stayed at a Marriott property to have horrible accomodations/service - the other was Spring Hill Suites in Salt Lake City and that was a filthy pig stye, with dog pee smelling rooms, stained carpets, dirty stained floors, missing light fixtures in the rooms, bugs in the bathroom, broken coffee machine in the room and badly stained couches.

Good modern hotel, quiet location. Friendly staff. Indoor pool was nice and a decent size. Guest laundry also good. Big problem was how thin the walls are, we could hear everything through the wall and the woman next door was continually berating her child and was up at 6.30 in the morning so little sleep was had. Breakfast was standard Marriott fare though the first property we've stayed at that had no oatmeal and everything full of sugar - cereals and yoghurts. Nothing semi healthy.
