Vile staff. Disgusting accommodation. Check out booking. Com for a full review and the ridiculous reply from the owner. Just stay elsewhere and save ruining your trip. I’ve never refused to stay anywhere but this was just horrific. It actually reduced my wife to tears and was a huge stain on an amazing Californian road trip. Big bear is absolutely stunning . This place is not. The owners refused any form of refund , which says a lot about their attitude to customer service

As I am about to check out this morning I would be remiss not to share a couple of thoughts I be coming here consistently for about 10 years Sunny his wife and the entire staff are incredibly and consistently professional offering Excellence across the board You get more than you pay for here it's not the Hyatt but it's incredibly Charming quaint and the added little amenities such as popcorn and different types of coffee you know we all in the Chalet is are nice touch Do yourself a favor disregard the other reviews I highly recommend Fireside Lodge and that will be coming back a few times this year thanks again Sonny and team!! Booked this place for my family, me, my husband, my 19 yr old son (big) and my 14 yr old (biggest). The place said would sleep 4 adults...1 queen bed (for me and the husband) and a pull out couch bed for the boys. Upon arrival there wasn't a couch bed it was a futon. Good thing my youngest stayed home sick so my 19 yr old stayed with him and our 27 yr old daughter decided to come up with us. She works from home so she needs to be able to use wifi. NONE! When i called to complain they said they had wifi and the wifi link on their phone but they would reset the wifi... it will be an hour for it to reload. When i checked out i complained again about the futon and the wifi and he didn't even care.. he said I'm selling you a room not wifi. Sorry to have to write such a bad review as i can tell its family run business but this was the worst stay ever in big bear.

Please book your stay elsewhere. In our experience, this lodge does not feel safe for families. There was also a near constant smell of cigarettes. So much that we were forced to leave our sliding doors closed and miss out on the lake view entirely.
