Motel 6 Santa Cruz CA

Terrible. No room cleaning during stay. Is this a new thing? Motels and hotels got chinsy. Is it since COVID? I spent $200 for this dumpster and they don't have the decency to clean the damn room! No clean towels nothing. They tell me I have to request it. Where does it say that?

The wifi was horrible turning off and on so I couldn’t do my work half the time on my laptop and one outlet didn’t even work the bathroom doorknob was very loose the only thing nice was the shower they also try to higher the price on me for the second night 🤦🏽

A bad experience from the start. Disgusting communication thru tiny window standing outside. Very busy and Loud traffic could not hear. Had to repeat ourselves over and over. they wanted $250 CASH deposit for our pet Shi Tzu. We negotiated to $100, with hand written receipt. Both rooms said Non Smoking, clearly they were not. Burns on bedspreads, stains everywhere on floors, beds not made. Filthy place. We took pictures to show to the reception people and they refunded our $100 cash deposit for our dog and the $27.50 for the dog. She told us and I quote, 'Call Hotel Planner they will refund our room". We left this horrible establishment. They did NOT refund our room at $122.84 LOST. I communicated with Hotel Planner.com they reached out to Ocean Lodge and they denied our refund, 2 times. Thieves. DO NOT STAY HERE, EVER.

Got in the room and it was hot in there. Didn’t realize there was no A/C. Room was decent nothing special. I was surprised the tv and fridge worked but they did. Pulled sheets back and saw a some blood stains on sheets but not til my last night. Went to turn on light by bed and there were two pieces of gum on it. Oddly the cleanest roomed seemed to be the bathroom.

I was a little wary after some of the reviews, but we found the beds very comfortable, the staff friendly and the location super convenient. More than enough for our two night stay. We had a room with two bedrooms separated by a bathroom. Both rooms had enough space to move around comfortably and to place luggage on the floor.
