Palmoro House

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the other reviews. The room was super-clean and spacious, very comparable to the sister property Mar Monte's rooms. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi and poolside service, highly recommend the Italian Mojito! Huge TV with hassle-free streaming. Very close to the Zoo, East Beach, and the Funk zone. We loved it, can't wait to return next year!

I recently booked the Palmero Hotel off Hotel Tonight since the photos advertised look stylish, clean and beachside. I arrived in the nighttime for check in. Unfortunately I was uninformed that there would be no one to check me in upon arrival at the actual Palmero Property located at 424 Por La Mor Drive. In addition this property was poorly lit, locked, and had a low to the ground gate you could easily climb. Across from the Palmero are train tracks, and a park which has some scrupulous looking characters, and individuals clearly on drugs or addicted to them. When I went to the front door of the Palmero there was a number to call which instructed to go to Monte Mar Hotel to check in which was 3 blocks away. You still have to get out of your car to use your key card and at night it didn’t feel safe at all and even in the daytime I was nervous as a woman was wildly screaming and throwing herself around on drugs. This is not where you want to stay but looks different advertised because they are posting Mar Monte Hotel. You get to use the Mar Monte’s facilities but that doesn’t do much good when it’s not safe to walk there and it’s driving 3 blocks away.

We almost got sucked into this hotel by the misleading photos appearing on all the hotel websites of a beautiful hotel across from the beach that IS NOT this property! Buyer beware - this hotel is 1/2 mile from the ocean near the freeway and train tracks.

This is my family's second stay at the Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara this summer, and both stays were lovely experiences. While we were a bit hesitant initially to venture out after staying at home during the pandemic, we made the decision to travel locally within California - and this hotel's cleanliness procedures really hit the mark to make us feel safe. The hotel has been recently renovated, and the beachy-bohemian touches make it feel more like an independent boutique hotel, with all the perks of being a Hyatt. The staff could not be more friendly! The food offerings by the pool were unexpectedly good, and we found ourselves having breakfast here daily (avocado toast) despite all the other amazing food options to choose from in SB. Between just our first and second visits, the menu has been doubled in size, and its obvious that many changes are being made here to continuously improve. We can't wait to come back!

I’m really surprised Hyatt put their brand on bldg. While I was checking another guest called it a dilapidated apartment. I won’t use Hyatt again, I have noticed the decline of Hyatt’s. I’ve stayed at the Multiple Hyatt’s and no way does it meet the standards of a 4 star ⭐️, inside was ok ifor a 2 star. Look at the sign, look at pictures you decide if you would think this is a Hyatt House, even affiliated with a Hyatt. I hope this helps. Again, room was small but it was clean!
