JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

This hotel is beautiful and the signature scent when you enter it is divine. Lovely amenities. It is close to great shopping and restaurants. Thanks to Karin Gomez in the Executive Offices who had great suggestions of things to do. Much appreciated. Will definitely return. Elizabeth & Briana

I would like to leave a 5 star review for Chef Fermin. I stayed at the JW Marriott for a business trip March 21-23. I had breakfast at the hotel on Saturday and Sunday morning. The breakfast menu had no options for vegans. Chef Fermin came out to speak with me, and then proceeded to make an AMAZING breakfast of stir-fried tofu with broccolini and kale leaves, with side of potatoes sauteed with onions and bell peppers. The dish was perfectly seasoned! It was absolutely delicious...that I asked for the exact same dish again on Sunday. I want to thank Chef Fermin for his creativity, excellence, and most importantly, taking the time to listen to my needs. Chef Fermin made my experience at JW Marriott memorable. Thank you Chef Fermin! As a side note to JW Marriott, please make a vegan option standard on your menus.

Where should I start... Sleep quality? None courtesy of loud people outside. Room? Nope. Worst layout and wasted space ever. No proper closet and who needs cabinetry in the loo? Desk space? Mostly occupied by a bar fridge and a bar stool. The small table with the high chair screams "let's kill ergonomics!" Housekeeping? Not particularly environmentally adept. Why? Despite me hanging towels, these were replaced by fresh ones. So why put up signs reminding the customer of the environment when staff could care less? I have been to many Marriott properties and this one is, frankly, highly overrated. There are many better places in town and I do not plan to come back. Hey Management, do not bother with a nice reply... you are wasting your time.

Wonderful Hotel. Lobby lounge is incredible for drinks and food. Service outstanding. Sever Michelle is amazing! Definitely 5 stars in Union sq. Attention to details and building is modern and well maintained. Location is perfect. Just below Nob and Telegraph Hills. Union Sq. Down the street. Not far from Embarcadero and China town. 3 miles down Market street to Castro.

OMG one of the worst hotel stays EVER. This property like many others in San Francisco are on strike and it is SO loud. They are in front of the hotel of the main and only entrance. They are screaming into megaphones and beating drums and buckets from 7am to 10pm. We waited an 1 1/2 hours past check in time for a room even with our Titanium Elite Status. The club is not open, breakfast is SPARCE . Most importantly in the afternoon walking into the hotel they were so close to us and followed us all the way to into the front door screaming at us with their megaphones. Did not feel SAFE and very harassed. When complained at front desk as they watched the entire scene they just shrugged their shoulders. Marriott often tells you if there is construction, pool closures or any types of disruptions at the hotel to make you aware, this GM chooses not to. Although I emphasize with the workers trying to get better wages. They were so aggressive and harassing it was totally unfair.
