Hampton Inn San Diego Kearny Mesa

The location was great. New hotel, nice decor. The problems were with parking and breakfast. When you park in the back it’s hard to find access to the hotel, not convenient. Breakfast was chaos. The food is in one room with dining space across the hall. With one access and exit point, it was almost impossible to move and get any food. I tried two different times. I walked away the first time. Second time I had to brave it as breakfast was almost over. I saw others look in the room and walk away also. I would recommend going as soon as it opens. Might be better. The elevators are also slow. Everything else was nice. Heads up, the fridge is in the closet.

We were happy with this hotel for the most part. We were able to check in early, and front desk staff were so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was pretty good. The only problem was the walls were pretty thin. We were awoken by the person next door having a coughing fit which felt like the neighbor was in our room. Other than that, we heard neighbors only a little. Overall decent facility… A little further from downtown than I probably wanted but probably good to avoid comic con congestion.

Clean hotel, to include rooms. Quiet and good light-blocking curtains on window. Breakfast is standard Hampton Inn fare with some kinds of eggs, sausage, and potatoes, plus waffle maker, etc. Mini-fridge is oddly in the closet. Never seen that before. Parking is $15 a night, to pay for the overnight parking lot security guard they employ. I've never had to pay for parking at a Hampton outside a downtown area before. A/C works well. I would stay again due to the hotel rooms being clean (a big plus in my book), but might look around at other properties in the area, too. I paid $230 per night plus taxes and parking, which felt slightly high for being so far out of downtown area.

Stayed at the property from 12/28-12/31 Peter checked us in and was super nice even though we arrived super late around 2am and told us all the information we needed to know. When we got to room everything was great the beds were super comfortable as well as clean, it was super spacious which is great. The next morning I realised the fan for bathroom wasn’t working at let Irish at the front desk know she apologised for inconvenience and said she’ll get a work order done, we left the hotel and came back and it was fixed. That was the only problem we had in the two rooms that we had and it was fixed super fast. When I come back to area I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Checked in on friday 10/13/23 around 5pm and the woman at check in wasnt welcoming at all, no smile no hello….just a “checking in” with a stern voice. She was the only one there so im sure management can narrow down who im referring to as she didnt wear a name tag. She needs a refresher course on CUSTOMER SERVICE. Room was very dark and carpet is just dirty. My son walked around barefoot in the room and his feet was black. Elevators are slow too. Only thing ok was breakfast. Not sure how this hotel has high ratings but be aware!
