Residence Inn by Marriott Redwood City San Carlos

We were so happy with our stay. My son had to have surgery at Stanford and the hotels close to Stanford are so expensive. Thankfully we found this hotel and it was only 20 minutes from the hospital. We stayed in a Queen/Queen suite and it was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable, the living room area was spacious and the kitchen worked out perfectly. We only stayed two nights, but I can see how someone could stay several weeks as it truly has everything needed for a nice stay. I absolutely LOVED the small dishwasher. There were so many cabinets throughout the room as well as shelves for storage. I was only able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast one morning and I will say it wasn't my favorite but it was okay. Breakfast ended at 9:30 am and I arrived around 8:50 am. Most of the items were already gone and they weren't restocking. So my suggestion is to get there earlier for the best options. I am a travel agent as well and will definitely recommend this hotel to my clients!

The good: - Nice breakfast. - Nice rooms, in good shape. - Nice amenities, friendly staff. The bad: - Heater is very noisy, and it is in the bedroom. - Ventilation is weak, only supports Low and Auto, no medium or high. - Highway-facing rooms are noisy. - No restaurant or even a coffee place in the walking distance, none inside the hotel either, have to take Uber to San Carlos downtown for lunch and dinner. - Long hotel with lobby on one end, very long walk to the lobby if your room happens to be on the other end. - TV channel guide is not for the same plan as what is actually on TV, no way to know which movies or programs will be on channels.

This is a very comfortable 3 star hotel. We were visiting family in Redwood City. The hotel is in a great location. There is a pool, fitness center, and laundry room. Our suite was clean, new, well appointed, and comfortable and they offer a pretty good free breakfast. We will be back.

This is a strong four star hotel. Its strength is its five star staff, who go above and beyond to accommodate the guests. Special thanks to Nemo, Larry, Delise, and Patricia. They went above and beyond in a patient and professional manner to help us and make our stay a great one. We had a studio room and it was well-furnished, clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff services the rooms every other day and does a great job. If you see them in the hall they are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with numerous choices. Fresh hardboiled eggs are offered, as well as fresh fruit and yogurt. I wish they had some whole wheat bread in addition to the English muffins and bagels. The coffee was very good. I was glad that there was a well-equipped gym on site. This hotel is in a good location to access all the amazing things that the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer. We have family in the area and have stayed in several hotels nearby. This is by far the best one and we look forward to returning.

Great Staff, sadly the hotel has suffered FLOODING from burst pipes, so they now have the WORST WATER PRESSURE in the area; also, they continue to provide the WORST IN ROOM TV SYSTEM IN THE USA TODAY; the TV turns-off every hour to save energy... regardless of what you're doing... so poor water pressure, horrible TV system, really tired and worn out mattresses and rooms, but really great staff...
