Travelodge by Wyndham Sacramento Convention Center

The worst experience we have ever had. Bugs were running everywhere. Walking on the floor made the bottom for your feet black. Amenities missing: Air Conditioning - front cover of the A/C unit was taped on to keep it from falling off. Bathroom Amenities - 2 soaps / nothing else, 1 hand towel & wash cloth, 2 bath towels Desk - 2 very uncomfortable chairs Free WiFi (high-speed) - spotty and slow (used my cell hotspot) Hair Dryer - missing HDTV - control box missing High-Speed Internet - don't know, didn't trust it (used my cell hotspot) Microwave - missing Mini-Refrigerator - there TV - Cable/Satellite - controller missing Sheets did not fit the bed, no mattress cover and stains on the mattress, The shower was OK. Checked out early.

This was basically what we expected. Seemed like a relatively safe area. The hotel was quiet on a Friday night. No carpet, microwave, or fridge. It is functional, but obviously dated. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The room is a room, no frills. I’m fine with that, many would not appreciate the simplicity. Location is great and I found it to be a more than adequate for my needs.

It’s hard to believe this qualifies as a Travelodge. It was a terrible experience with first the TV not working, and then to be covered with bedbug bites when leaving the next morning. Awful.

This place is absolutely the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in ANYWHERE in the world. It begs TripAdvisor to allow for a negative star rating. Upon checking in I was initially told that, even though I booked the reservation online using a credit card for guarantee, that the hotel would only accept debit cards…hmm, something really fishy about that. After five minutes of back-and-forth, the moron behind the pretty much bullet-proof plexiglass covering his desk in a lobby that was as large as an airplane bathroom and which stunk of all kinds of nasty food, finally assigned me a room and agreed to the credit card. There were only three other cars in the parking lot, by the way, which gave me a feel for the horrendous-ness of this dump. Upon entering the room I was somewhat shocked to see that (a) the bed had no pillows, (b) there was no chair in the room, (c) though their website had indicated a refrigerator en suite, there was none, (d) bugs were flying all around the room, (e) the room had no clock, no phone, the TV had been taken out of the wall, and (f) the only light was a nasty bright overhead light. Though I’ve never spent an evening in San Quentin, I can’t imagine it being more than about two steps down from this $100 a night rathole. Oh, and then there was the tub/shower. Full of brown stains along with a peeling ceiling, it was a perfect accompaniment to this wretched habitation. That evening I met someone in a bar who was on a first date with someone that they met over the internet. This person said (whilst the other was away for a moment) that they were really tired of the evening, knew that nothing long-term would come of it, and just wanted to find a way to escape. I suggested that the best way to accomplish same would be to bring the date to the Travelodge hinting that other actions would follow. GUARANTEE that the date would get in their car as quickly as possible and you’d never hear from them again. This place is beyond nasty and worthless. It should only be reserved for the stays of any and all politicians. My advice: stay ANYWHERE else, even if it means sleeping in your car.
