Residence Inn by Marriott Rocklin Roseville

This place is very clean, and it smells amazing anywhere in the hotel. We loved our suite. I had kids ( travel soccer games) very spacious room for them. We enjoyed the breakfast, pool, and gym. We are on the 4th floor. We are hoping to stay here again on our next visit to the area.

My husband had a reservation Jan. 18-20, 2025 for a 1 bedroom suite with 2 double beds and sofabed. On the morning of Jan. 28 as he was driving to the hotel, he called to inquire about whether early check in, he was informed that his reservation would not be honored and he would be bumped to a nearby property. He was told about some families that were "displaced" as the reason. He explained that we booked this hotel many months ago for the a number of reasons, mostly because of the location to the Grounds (as he was taking our daughter to a volleyball tournament), and we are loyal to Marriott properties. The front desk then admitted that hotel does have studios available with one King and sofabed, so he reluctantly agreed. There are a lot of problems with this situation. 1) We booked the hotel many months ago for the room type we needed. My daughter was on a 3-day volleyball tournament, so we wanted her to have her own bed and room to rest well. My son and I were also contemplating about joining them, so 2 beds and a sofabed were necessary. Since we were forced to take the studio, my son and I did not make the trip, and MISSING my daughter's first tournament this year. 2) My husband ended up being sick that weekend and coughed throughout the night. Being in the studio with my daughter made it impossible for her to get good rest. 3) Hotel FAILED to give us any notice; we would not have found out BUT for the fact that he called in advance. 4) Hotel clearly HAD SPACE, but the first option was to bump us to another property, until we pushed back. 5) Jan 18 weekend was very busy in the Roseville area due to the big volleyball tournament. It was not that believable that the hotel had to accommodate "displaced families" during that time. 6) To the extent that it was because the hotel had to accommodate "displaced families," there were other Marriott properties nearby that had room. I know this for a fact- because I looked at availability that week and Townplace Suites and Springhill suites both had rooms. We have stayed over 400 nights at Marriott hotels, ranging from the most basic to the most luxurious. Very disappointed in how the hotel handled this situation. It was clearly just oversold because it was a very busy volleyball weekend. But to say things like "displaced families" to gain sympathy was a tactic that failed miserably. I would never stay here again. There are many marriott properties in the Roseville area and we have never had a problem with any of them.

This property was nice and clean. The location was great for the event I was attending. The breakfast was decent. However, steer clear of room 217. This room is right next to the AC units and there was a buzzing sound and noise throughout my entire room which ruined my sleep and my stay.

The property is well run. Martin, the GM there, has built a great team. His best team member by far is Elijah. He works the front desk. He is a wonderful service provider. He is always eager to help you and he always has a smile for you. He is a class act. I predict that he will have a very successful career in the hospitality industry if he chooses to pursue that path.

Danny- Engr was incredible kind and very helpful! If it wasn’t for him, I would have most likely left a very low review. He made our stay a 100 percent better. Our tv was having a lot of trouble and my girlfriend and I just wanted to relax at the hotel.
