The Oaks Hotel & Suites

Up front: if you’re looking for a hotel that speaks Chinese, I think one person there does, but most of the staff does not. When I was there, I didn’t see any Chinese speaking staff, however when I called a day after leaving, there was a Chinese speaker at the front desk. This is a pretty average hotel that gets four stars or more from me for its price range. I originally gave it three stars, for the shower, but saying three stars does a bit of a disservice to the staff that work there. The staff are all very friendly and helpful to travelers. I even left my electric toothbrush there after I checked out, and they found it and kindly agreed to mail it to me. The hotel is only let down by the shower. The shower head is a style that is meant to kind of be a “rain shower” head but in this hotel, it has so much water pressure behind it that it feels like you are being stabbed all over your body by needles. I tried cleaning the little rubber nozzles to get rid of mineral deposits and enlarge the holes, to no avail. Not a good experience, and something they should rectify. There’s no way to lower the amount of water going into the shower head either, because it’s one of those single handle things where you have to turn it all the way over and open to get to the hot water. Let’s just say that having this shower hit you in any *ahem* sensitive area is torture. Maybe that’s just me and my delicate skin or something though :D Anyhow, great staff, good convenient location, comfortable rooms, but terrible shower.

The staff at the front counter was great! He is super chill! And Amanda at the bar is one to visit. She was nice and really friendly. We did ask for cleaning but that did not occur. Overall a good visit! The location is a little off of downtown but a $10 uber ride will do.

This is an amazing hotel The staff is some of the nicest that I have ever interacted with at different hotels. I was there with friends and everyone had a great time. They truly make you feel special. From homemade cookies in the lobby to clean rooms, it’s perfect. I will definitely stay there again

I loved that we got a robe and slippers for the stay and a comfortable comforter. Breakfast was outstanding and the coffee was the best I've ever had at a hotel. Great time was had at the lounge also. We will definitely keep The Oaks as our wine time place

Right in Paso and close to wine tasting. Comfortable rooms with a nice breakfast. The staff were very nice and helpful as well. We received a drink card on checkin but didn’t get to use it but a kind gesture. We’ve stayed there in the past too. Will definitely visit again.
