Motel 6 Palm Desert CA Palm Springs Area

Pro: Clean room, looked like it was recently updated. The refrigerator was clean and working. It was a reasonably priced room and convenient location. Close to the Living Desert Zoo and many food choices near by. Con: The queen bed had only two flat pillows. Bathroom supplies were miserly…..one mini tube shampoo, one mini lotion, no tissues, no blow dryer and no microwave.

The worst! After traveling for 4 hours with friends to see the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament we were tired and wanted to drop our stuff off before heading over. When we opened the door, there were 2 mattresses on boards for beds. No comforter. Just a dirty blanket. The vinyl floor was so dirty that my socks were black just walking from the bed to the bathroom. The toilets didn't flush. We didn't trust the staff to leave our things in the room. And tried to wait out the toilet to flush. They charged our credit card the day we checked in for the whole amount $256 a night - can you believe that! And then wanted to charge us $30 more to check in before 3:00. And it was 1:30 pm. The ice machine was broke. We didn't dare try the pool, due to the water color. Never ever stay there! I have written the CFO and Customer Guest Relations and are waiting to hear what they have to say. Because the manager never returned our calls.

Went to Coachella with friends, we had a problem with our airbnb and could not get in. All hotels nearby were completely booked except for this Motel 6, I was skeptical at first but once we arrived we were greeted by Enrique at the front desk. He was kind, helpful, calm and very knowledgeable. He made us feel right at home and even went out of his way to look for some water bottles for us. He is such a gem! The room was clean and and comfy as well. Will definitely be returning!

Hi Motel 6 Staff, I had a bad experience at the Motel 6, on 78100 Varner Rd., Palm Dessert, CA 92211 on 2/2/2023.  I had stayed at another Motel 6 the night before, in Indio, CA, didn't have any problems at all.  I regret not going back to the Motel 6, at 82195 Indio Blvd., Indio, CA 92201, they were so much nicer and helpful.  I enjoyed my stay at that location.  The Hotel Receptionist at the location in Palm Desert was not nice at all, he was very rude to me.  I really didn't like his attitude toward customers, a very impatient person.  All he did was criticize me, and make me feel nervous, he was just not nice.  I thought everything would go smoothly, and I thought that I would be able to use a Greendot Prepaid card, I was pretty sure I could use that card.  Did you know they couldn't take the $20 on that card?  I know I had put the money on the card, and even went to the ATM to try and get the money out.  Did you know I couldn't take the money out, so I was stuck.  After that, I went around to places and asked people, but I didn't have any luck because everything was closed.  After that, I tried to call another place to make a reservation. I don't think I will ever be visiting this location again; it was an awful experience.!

Looks right out of the 60's. I thought the place needed updating but the day staff was nice enough. I had the impression it was a mom and pop place but I could be wrong. The balcony walk to my room was by a couple room that gave me the impression they were 'long term' guests. The room itself was small-ish and plain. Some of the items in the room could have been original to the room. It was clean enough but the floor had a weird feel to it. It was concrete with a layer of something on top the held my foot prints so I put on socks and laid a towel on the floor by the bed. The bed is 2 feet from the large window and air conditioner. The AC was noisy but worked well. It drowned out the voices I heard outside at 2am and 4am, 2 feet from where I was lying down. Sink worked, TV worked, Shower worked but didn't drain well or fast. Keep in mind this place is located by I-10 so there will be road noise. I didn't see people hanging out or walking around aimlessly like I have in some places I've stayed. There was an empty lot behind the motel but I didn't see any encampment there or overnighters. If you wanted to travel on the cheap this place would work. However, after 1 night my wife said perhaps the hotel wasn't the place to say a buck and we moved on!
