Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach Curio Collection by Hilton

My family and I stayed at Zachari Dunes for our week long vacation. Everyone and everything exceeded our expectations. Initially, there was a tiny glitch with the room we were given vs what we booked, paid… online. However, Venesa immediately handled the issue and moved us to the room we booked. I think all the folks at the front welcoming guests, front desk folks being extremely helpful and ONLY A TEXT away (Can you believe that? You don’t call and wait for someone to pick up. You text and your reply back in a sec with a service exceeding your expectations!!!), the folks at OX & OCEAN (We had our breakfast, lunch and dinner through out our stay at this place. Is it a bit expensive? Yes. However you get what you pay for my friend. MAGIC SUNSET sent me & my wife to our room happy every single time ;) know exactly how to be great host… Safe (I ran around the place and along the beach at 0400 daily), beautiful and gorgeous location. And we WILL BE BACK. The only thing I would suggest to change if possible: No charge for parking 🅿️ Marshall

This is an update to my previous review of my stay with my family in Sept 2024 over labor day weekend. We had to sue the hotel in small claims court because they wouldn't cover the loss of my son's electric bike from their parking garage. They have no bike racks, no security in the garage, and the elevators were broken during our stay. In small claims they didn't even offer to comp any part of our $5000 3-day weekend. Don't take your family here because there's no security. The gates are open to the beach all day and night. The pool area is full of locals that aren't staying at the hotel. Cussing and drinking all day and night. This is NOT a family hotel. We had to call security at 2am because the room below us was having a party with over 20 people. Drunks everywhere. It's just not worth what you spend, and it's not safe. After checking with the police department I discovered they have had 5 cars stolen in the two years they've had the hotel under their management.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I’ve always trusted Hilton properties with my loyalty, my time, and my money—but my experience at Zachari Dunes has completely shattered that trust. On September 15, I entrusted my $150,000 Range Rover to the hotel valet service, expecting the professionalism I’ve come to associate with Hilton. When I picked up my car, I was horrified to find major damage to the rear door that had not been there before. What followed was an absolute disaster. The hotel promptly deflected blame, claiming the valet service was run by LAZ Parking and that I had to deal with them directly. LAZ Parking initially admitted responsibility and assured me it would be handled. However, after I went through the effort and expense of obtaining quotes from a body shop, their insurance company completely reversed course, accusing me of providing insufficient evidence—even after I submitted before-and-after photos proving the car was in perfect condition when I handed it over. Despite my loyalty to Hilton, holding their credit card, and staying exclusively at their properties, I was abandoned. Hilton management didn’t even offer to comp my room for the ordeal. In the end, I was left with a $7,000 repair bill and a mere $1,000 insurance payout—a disgraceful response considering the clear evidence. The lack of accountability from both the hotel and their valet service is appalling. Passing the blame back and forth while loyal guests are left footing the bill is beyond unprofessional; it’s outright dishonest. If Hilton cannot ensure integrity and accountability from its partners, how can we trust them at all? I will not let this go unanswered. I’m preparing legal action, but I must warn anyone considering this property: do not entrust them with your valuables or your loyalty. They will let you down, and you’ll be the one left paying for their negligence.

Room was nice. Besides sweating the first night then freezing my butt off the rest of the nights due to the faulty HVAC, it’s not a bad stay. Oh, and if they don’t tell you parking on property is 45$ every night, it is 45$. I should know since I stayed there. Will not stay there again.

My husband treated me to three nights at Zachari Dunes for my birthday. We had a wonderful stay. The staff was attentive to detail and very responsive to our requests. I have sleep issues and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed the large heated pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel is right on the beach and it was nice to be able to walk there every day and see the sea birds. We also enjoyed having three dinners at the onsite restaurant: Ox & Ocean. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a fun atmosphere that was elegant but relaxed. I hope to have the opportunity to stay at Zachari Dunes again sometime.
