I wish I could give zero stars and itâs so sad that I have to even say that. Since 2023 there has been construction at this hotel. I have stayed several times since construction began and this stay (less than 24 hours) was by far the worst. First off we were placed in a room smack in the middle of the buildings being renovated. This was an active construction site with garbage, tools, materials etc all around. I was told we could park anywhere but a majority of the parking near our building was taken by the construction workers, blocked off by cones or filled with materials. So unloading my bags and then the unfortunate having to load my items was not easy. Then beginning at 7:30am construction began all around our room with dumpster trucks being empty and hammers and drilling, you name it. Then without any advanced warning all the water was shut off to the building. Finally having enough enough I went to the front desk and spoke to Nichole who seemed understanding, at first. Then I asked if she could put me in another building that this was not okay. She got her manager Dianne who also seemed understanding and tried to reassure me that I would get another room within 30 minutes. Well the half hour went by and I called the front desk. They said theyâd call me when staff came back from lunch. Well another half hour went by and I called again asking for any update. Thatâs when things got worse. The receptionist (Nichole) responded I told you Iâd call you when your room was ready. Very terse and passive aggressive. I also responded trying to convey my frustration and she dismissed my concerns and spoke over me. Then after repeating that a couple of times she hung up on me. At that point I threw in the towel and had to leave. I went to the front desk and again Nichole was arguing with me, blaming and gaslighting me for my communication. Was I upset, absolutely! However she continued to talk over me like she did on the phone and in front of her manager. Thatâs when I stopped talking and she told me all about why she was being rude to me. I let her speak and told Dianne Iâm ready to check out. Then went to Courtyard down the road. Reserve at your own risk, especially during renovations. Customer service and communication is lacking and itâs so disappointing since at this location itâs beautiful. Highly doubt we will be coming back. Iâm disappointed that my concerns were dismissed and I was not credited for my stay. In addition I was assured by the manager Dianne that she would call me and âmake this rightâ. It has been several days and I have not heard from her at all.

I've just read a number of the reviews on this site, and I have to say I was expecting a not-great experience. But I do have to say: I thought the place was extremely professional. It better have been, given that I paid more than $300 a night for a two-bedroom, upstairs-downstairs apartment for eight days. I would stay again. Pros: Quiet quiet quiet. I value that greatly. Clean. Two bathrooms -- one for each bedroom. Plenty of utensils, etc. in kitchen. Room serviced every other day. Very polite and helpful staff at all times. There was no wine bottle opener in the kitchen. It arrived in two minutes. Again, that means a lot. Cons: None at all from the hotel. HOWEVER, I needed to shorten the stay by one night at the beginning. I did this well ahead of time, by at least two weeks. When I did that, the price per night went up. I called Marriott customer service to ask why. I got a Genuine Smart Aleck on the phone who gave me a song and dance. All she said was a silly thing about this is a new reservation, and more and more nonsense. This was so annoying that I ALMOST CANCELLED my entire reservation. I'm so tired of these unprofessional phone people at Marriott these days. But I decided it wasn't worth my time to find a new two-bedroom place. The crazy phone call ended with the youngster saying: This is NOT GOING TO ESCALATE. I got off the phone and thought for several days about her unacceptably aggressive statement. Then I decided that it would escalate. I took two actions. First, I wrote about her behavior here, for the entire public to read about. AND I escalated by cancelling a two-week reservation at a Residence Inn in Canada. I don't need that kind of mouthiness from someone who answers the telephone. We're staying at an Air B&B instead. I have a great deal of business travel, long trips at individual places, over this next year. I'll be looking for places to stay other than Marriotts from here on in.

Wonderful amenities - nicely located close to everything, but you feel away from everything. We were 10 min from major restaurants as well as 10 min to the peace of the ocean. Rooms are spacious and large enough for 4 people with no issues. Sparkling pools and spas, fantastic breakfast....will definitely come again

First and foremost, which will bring me back, is all the employees I dealt with were fantastic! I was in a new room. I had to call because the lights kept coming on in the main room due to the motion detector. It picked up motion when I was in bed. It was impossible for me to turn the lights off, to turn the motion detector function off. The solution was to send someone to my room at 10 PM to put black tape over the motion detector. The other motion detectors had the same issue; I just didn't turn the kitchen lights or the bathroom lights on while in bed! The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. One of the hallway closet doors would not close. The bathroom sink faucet was not aligned correctly. When you turned the faucet off, the water ran back under the faucet and created a puddle on the counter between the faucet and the sink. The base of the wall next to the front door, in the main room, didn't seem to be straight. Breakfast (eggs and sausage) on the second morning was cold. I don't think the flame canisters had been lit, or they were so close to empty they didn't put out enough heat.

We arrived at the Oxnard Residence Inn on July 1st to stay for 2 nights to get out of the desert heat. We were given room #314 ground floor unit. Upon entering the unit looked clean, with a kitchen, living area, and king bed. We unpacked and left for a quick dinner. We hadnât noticed the AC unit directly under the bedroom window and didnât use ours. But at 7 pm the unit started up and ran til 8 am. The noise was horrendous. Worse yet was the rock hard very used bed and wet dog smelling carpet. I nearly throw up the reek was that strong. I called and complained to their front desk that night, the response was sorry nothing we can do, but you can speak to the manager in the morning. Never heard back from management and we were gone for most of the next day. We did ask for a different unit but told due to our reservation with Expedia, their hands were tied. So instead of repacking for 1 additional night we stayed and touched it out. And then there was the stained couchâŚWe did get an email saying how sorry Marriott was, but nothing more then a courtesy notice. Iâm out of $500 for a horrible experience with Marriott and as a side note, I just cancelled our upcoming reservations with all of Marriott. Theyâre losing a 30 year customer.
