The building looks nice and appears recently remodeled-but thatās where the positives end. 1. The bedding on one of the beds in our room was dirty and smelled strongly of perfume. YUCK! 2. The shades in our room were broken so we could not open them in the AM. 3. The milk at the breakfast buffet appeared very watered down, but we assumed maybe it was skim and not 2% as labeled. But it was BAD! Like one bite spit your cereal out bad. 4. Conditioner in shower was empty, body wash super watered down. Seems like they are really cutting corners all around!

Booked this hotel a few weeks ahead of time, but when I arrived I was notified the hotel chose to cancel my reservation on my check-in day and with no advance notice. They refused to honor the reservation even though they still had availability. I had to pay double the price of my initial reservation for the same room. Hotel management (especially Kenneth) was unresponsive, dismissive, didnāt care about the issue at all, and ultimately just tried to cover their tracks and deflect responsibility for their own deceptive business practices. Itās very clear that not honoring reservations, cancelling at the last minute, and then significantly increasing rates are all part of their business model to take advantage of consumers. Beware of this hotel. You should definitely go to one of the other nearby hotels instead, such as Marriott, Courtyard, or Moxy. Those are better and much more reliable options.

I recently visited Oakland to see one of the last home games for the Oakland Athletics. I chose to stay at the Hampton Inn downtown primarily for its proximity to transit but I also liked being downtown and close to Jack London Square. My digital key was ready around 3:30 pm on the day of check in. The room was everything you would expect at a Hampton. I picked room 807 which is on the corner of the highest floor because it looked slightly larger than others. I am not sure any of the rooms have much of a view but I could see some of Oakland out the side of my window. The hot water took awhile to get going but otherwise everything worked well and was appointed nicely. The hotel is a block and a half away from the 12th Street Bart station and makes getting around Oakland very easy. I got back from the baseball game fairly late and the area still seemed safe enough. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return if in Oakland.

I stayed one night at this property on 07/29/2024 and had a fantastic stay. I was staying in Room 605. Unfortunately, the digital app check-in failed to work, as the process was completed; however, it then said I had to visit the front desk. They provided me with a different room than selected upon arrival. However, the service at the front desk was fantastic. They were very clear as to breakfast hours, as well as how to access the property. The room was what you would expect to see in a Hampton Inn. This room was kept in great condition, probably much newer than many and it was very clean. It smelled clean and it was clean. The temperature control worked fantastic and the large TV and Wifi worked great as well. A great and quick stay at this Hampton. I would definitely return here, if my stays brought me back to downtown Oakland.

My friends and I stayed here for a few nights in May. We originally booked 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. However, we were not informed that there were only 1 Queen room available until we were on our flight to SF and could not resolve until we check-in in person. However, the hotel front desk staffs were very helpful and were able to give us 2 King bed rooms instead in addition to the available Queen bedroom to anccommodate our party without charging us. Overall, we had a pleasant stay despite the initial mishap. The front desk agents Tania, Jose and April were very nice and helped us with the questions we had regarding our rooms and charges. The rooms we had were spacious and clean. The hallways and rooms were quiet throughout the night and we rarely see other guests other than during breakfast. I was in room 601 and did not have any issues with outside noises at all. The other people in my party also did not have any complain or issues regarding the hotel.
