I usually don't write bad reviews and after previous experiences, I now try not to use emotions when writing them either. My family will visit San Francisco a few times a year and I found this place to be the closest to where they visit. They usually have a good time but mainly because they just sleep here and don't hang around the hotel much. My biggest concern was how EVERYTHING in the rooms costs money if misplaced or not found. This goes from tiny bottle openers to their bleached bathrobes. Warning: So if you have misplaced anything or if the items are missing and you don't inform them the day of, they will charge you after you check out. For example, we didn't get our bath robes back after they cleaned the room on day 1. So we didn't say anything since we assumed we don't get those back if we used them. On checkout day we were charged 160$ for the missing bathrobes! I called the day of and each passing day and unfortunately the manager is busy dealing with another customer complaint or isn't around. The front desk doesn't seem to communicate well with the others and blames the charges on several reasons such as housekeeping put it in so they just charge it and can't do anything, housekeeping only cleans once every 3 days so they couldn't have cleaned our room (which isn't true the housekeeper was at our door and even asked when she can come in to clean), housekeeping will need to investigate because they don't know anything about it, and they weren't able to communicate to the manager as they don't know what to do. They also didn't mention until day 4 of following up that the manager is only present in the morning and not around after lunch. The rooms are as simple as it gets and nothing special. They start cleaning rooms from 7am up to check in time (2pm). It is not true that they clean the rooms every three days because the housekeeper was at our door at 8am asking when we will be out so she can go in to clean. The microwave we have uses a knob to turn for the timer and heat level. It was old and a bit dirty. The fridge was okay, kept things cool but also a bit dirty. The tv was a smart tv, but we noticed that people were logged into the tv subscriptions (Netflix, etc.) so don't be surprised if your login has more people added in! The TVs won't be restarted after you check out so you might want to log out before you leave. There's a 25$ fee if you come before check in time. So if you have luggage with you, be careful leaving them in the car for a long time or you can ask/pay to have them keep watch (but I wouldn't trust them). The parking spaces are super small and sometimes you might park next to a car and you can't get in because they parked too close. Lots of people walk by the streets and since it's a quiet and semi dark street, your car is vulnerable to be broken into. Even shops nearby will place warning signs that cars have been broken into so drivers beware! Unfortunately, with how badly managed this place is, doesn't offer hot breakfast and bagged boiled eggs were 2$, everything misplaced will cost money even if you didn't take them, your cars will be parked in a lighted lot until someone parks and closes you in, and no one communicates with each other on how the place is run, it's at least close to the airport....

I was traveling as a single female on a business trip needing an overnight before flying home today and booked a Twin Queen Deluxe as the single Queen Deluxe were sold out. Amazing price so close to SFO. The room was huge, fantastic multi functional tv, totally five star room experience. Microwave, fridge, Wolfgang Puck Coffee machine in room. The bathroom is small but luxurious shower and fittings and great fluffy towels and bathrobe. Lovely balcony - make sure you book odd or even depending on if you want sunrise or sunset. Short walk to Trader Joe's. Bed amazingly comfy with lovely pillows too and blankets and waffle blanket adding to lux experience. I can honestly say I cannot believe this hotel is so inexpensive given the location and experience and totally safe for a single female business traveller. All the bad reviews must have been in the non Deluxe rooms (which are outside access whereas Deluxe are inside access) as I stay in real 5 star hotels most of the time and I cannot fault The Dylan SFO and will definitely stay again.

This is our third time here at The Dylan Hotel, that’s how much we enjoy staying at this hotel. We want to shout out to ANNA PAGE for being so accommodating when we wanted to change our rooms from first floor to 2nd floor. The first floor was a bit too loud for us with the traffic but the 2nd floor was perfect! The parking is plenty and safe. The room is always clean! There are walking distance and many options on eateries around the area. It’s a close enough drive to Pacifica to enjoy the beautiful ocean or any cities nearby. We’ll definitely be back a fourth time!

We had a very nice room that provided us with an excellent night of rest. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The location is close to SFO and a BART station. There are many nearby restaurants with great food options...all within walking distance.
