Staybridge Suites Long Beach Airport an IHG Hotel

The rooms were super nice and spacious. We had a 1 bedroom which had a full kitchen. It was super clean and the location was great. I would reccommend this hotel to anything looking for a nice hotel that is not too far from Long Beach. The staff was helpful and easy to deal with.

The manager on duty was the rudest person I've ever encountered in the hospitality field. He interrupted a conversation I was having with an employee to check on items that were going wrong with my stay. He gave me the catering manager card when I asked for his info. He threatened to cancel my room and give a refund. I was in town for an overnight stay from Missouri to leave on a cruise the following morning with no other resources to change my hotel choice because of his actions. I have stayed at staybridge multiple times over the years of traveling and I will say I will NEVER stay at this Long Beach airport location. The water was off for over an hour. When I was checking in at 250pm I was told to wait for 10 minutes as a room was not available. So I asked to use the facilities and was told the hotel had no running water and that I could walk to the hotel next door to use their facilities. As I sat, another guest walked in and checked in immediately. Since my 10 minutes hadn't expired and I was told to wait. I asked the employee why I couldn't check in but someone after me could. As they were explaining that that guest had a different room type that was ready. I completely understood. I then let them know that I wasn't happy with the circumstances so far and Sasha ( is what I was told later as the rude manager) walked over and was entirely rude and unacceptable. I had also booked this hotel because it offers free shuttles from Long Beach airport there and to go to the shuttle area and a shuttle will come every 30 minutes. After waiting an hour. I called the hotel and was told oh they didn't have a shuttle for the day and that if I caught taxi they would pay for it. Well the taxi location wasn't in a walkable distance for me as I had a guest in a wheelchair and 3 luggage's. I had to call a Uber for a ride. The manager asked me if he would have any issues out of me for the night simply because I was reporting things that weren't up to staybridge normal standards. Please find out who was the manager on duty on Saturday January 18, 2025 approximately 245pm PST.

So let’s be clear I travel a lot and I see so many hotels from 1 to 5 stars. First of all arriving at hotel and is under renovations, not event a word or excuse of the hotel about this or a discount/points for the convenience. With the renovations not enough place to eat the breakfast too many people and missing a lot of stuff at the buffet, I know it’s not an all include vacations at Cuba but well…. We missed some electricity long time yesterday with food in the fridge (it’s an hotel suites that’s why we took it for the kitchen) and no hot shower. Event the room service didn’t pass to take garbages or put some towels. Day 3 no hot shower again we call room service they say they’re not aware of that. Finally and the most important for us, you’re near the airport and highway and you can smell the gases in the room. That’s a heavy problem !

Review of Staybridge Suites Long Beach Airport Checks all of my boxes for an excellent overnight stay, flying into nearby LGB and going on a cruise out of San Pedro. We were assigned room 305 which faces a quiet courtyard (405 freeway in distance but excellent window soundproofing). Built in 2019, the hotel is being maintained well. Our room had a full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, glasses, silverware, wine glasses, etc. Dishwasher, garbage disposal, full size refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, paper towels, dishwashing liquid. Coffeemaker was 2-cup decanter style with decent quality ground coffee in filter packets. The website lists many different sizes of rooms depending on number of guests. Bed very comfortable with the best pillows I've had in a while. Great lighting and outlets. Wifi and TV both worked great with good quality. Only one chair if I had to be picky. Bathroom very well lit with good water pressure and hair dryer. Closet had plenty of hangers. Quiet and efficient HVAC. Breakfast with good selection of hot and cold options (scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, grated cheese, salsa, oatmeal and cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles) refilled often. Juice a bit watery so only gets 99/100. Ample seating in several areas that are brightly lit with high, clean windows. Two breakfast attendants VERY friendly and helpful so put something in their tip jar please. Parking is $15. Airport shuttles have 2 vans shared with next door Holiday Inn, free on a schedule (call hotel for current status). For shuttles to the cruise ship docks or Disneyland or elsewhere, the front desk referred us to Sola Shuttles. The outdoor courtyard was great for the little kids to run off some steam in the evening ours. There is a small gym and a small outdoor pool too. While there is no in-house place to eat other than breakfast, it is a 1 minute walk to the adjacent Holiday Inn which has a top floor restaurant with basic bar food meals (average quality and ambiance). There is also a min-mart for supplies in the gas station on the corner immediately adjacent to the StayBridge. As Platinum IHG we were recognized and offered a choice IHG points or several snacks from their snack room as our welcome gift. This will be my favorite place to stay when I need a one night place near LGB airport.

Clean as expected. Iron and hair dryer not working. I had to call the front desk for replacement. Took 30 minutes for the request and needs constant follow-up. Morning breakfast such a disappointment with no plates as claimed they ran out of stock. We can't take the bacon as it's like a plastic synthetic I can't explain and did not consume for my worry can't be digested. This was just my second night. More to come!!! The morning male supervisor or manager was rude and not accommodating in response to inquiry. Such a frustration!!
