Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach LAX

They flew in pieces from Europe to give this newer hotel an old world feel. From the furnishings to the linens, everything was beautiful and felt upscale. The only 2 reasons for not giving the fifth star are: 1. Fluorescent bulbs throughout the room. It’s 2025, didn’t think they made fluorescent bulbs anymore, it flickered upon turning on and gave off a weird light. 2. The other major flaw was standard shower head. Would have loved an upgraded shower head with massage and handle. For what we were doing and seeing, the location was great.

I am a flight attendant for a major airline. I left my power bank plugged in next to the coffee machine. As soon as I got on my working flight back I called the front desk. I was transferred to housekeeping but nobody answered. I email the hotel same thing nobody answered. I emailed the manager and again nobody answered. I fly all over the world and and I can say that even in smaller hotel chain in other part of the world I get a better customer service than @ the Hawthorne Ayres. These people need to be retrained.

Was considering coming back as we loved the hotel. However, with mobility challenges we prefer to dine at the hotel. It appears the same restaurant is still there and with the terrible experience we had there previously we will look for another place. Hotel is awesome. Restaurant, not so much.

Great return visit. Excellent location for a couple of night stopover at LAX. Manhattan beach is wonderful. The hotel staff here really are the best. Easy to get around by rideshare. The Mexican steakhouse is fine dining. Delicious cocktails and meats complimented with Mexican sourced wines - a first for us. Well worth making an occasion of it or eating casually at the bar.

My family and I recently stayed at the Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach / Hawthorne while visiting California for a beach volleyball tournament in Hermosa Beach. This hotel was really great. The decor is in an old European style and well-maintained. The rooms were very clean, modern, and quite large. The location was great, with easy access to the beach of about 10 minute drive. Also close proximity to LAX, which was helpful. Lots of airline cruise stay at this hotel, which certainly speaks volumes to the consistency of service they provide. The outdoor courtyard, elevated second level patio, and interior sitting rooms were all very comfortable and great places to do a little work and get away from everything else for a bit. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast, and the room price was very competitive and a good value. The only item I might mention is that the pool is a bit underwhelming, so if you’re traveling with children and want a large/extravagant pool experience, this probably isn’t the hotel for you. I would stay here again in a heartbeat anytime I travel to this area of Los Angeles.
