I recently stayed at the TownePlace Suites Fresno for two nights while celebrating my birthday weekend at Yosemite. Unfortunately, this stay fell far below my expectations for a Marriott property, even though the staff tried their best to make up for it. We arrived in the evening and were greeted by Jessica at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly and professional; however, my Bonvoy status was not acknowledged, which was disappointing. Despite this, Jessica stood out as the highlight of the stay and Iāll explain why shortly. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor, but as soon as we entered, we noticed water pooling on the kitchen floor, likely from a leak, and found a dirty housekeeping rag left behind. It was clear this room should not have been given to a guest. I called the front desk, and Jessica immediately apologized and arranged a new room just a few doors down. She even came with me to ensure the new room was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the second room also had issues, a dirty towel was left behind, and the sink wouldnāt drain properly. Jessica called to follow up, showing genuine care and empathy, but by this point, we were too tired to move again. The hotel itself is extremely outdated. The furniture is worn, and the TVs are small and outdated. This was further compounded by a lackluster breakfast experience the next morning. The eggs were hard and rubbery, the oatmeal watery, and the juices overly sweet. While the breakfast attendant was polite and welcoming, the food quality was among the worst Iāve experienced at a Marriott property. Another major frustration was the $250 incidental deposit. For a property with no bar, restaurant, or significant amenities, this charge feels excessive and unjustified, especially considering the hotelās outdated condition. While the staff, particularly Jessica, went above and beyond to make things right, itās clear the hotel ownership and management do not prioritize maintaining or upgrading their property. This was one of the most disappointing stays Iāve had with Marriott. I cannot recommend this hotel unless itās a last resort. Itās a shame because the staff deserves better than to work in such an underwhelming environment. I hope Marriott takes action to update this property and bring it up to the standards weāve come to expect.

Staff was beyond racist, turned off our hot water and ac to basically force us out. Kept coming up with lies and excuses to make us leave. Front desk lady was beyond rude and disrespectful. Wouldnāt advise anyone to stay here if you have children or arenāt white. Beyond racist and cannot stress that enough.

Clean rooms. Easy check in. Friendly Staff. Overall enjoyed our stay. Wish the pool was heated or had yoga mats in the gym but wouldnāt stop us from returning. I would recommend to families because the rooms have a lot of space and kitchens which make it great to not have to eat out.

Donāt stay here. Itās old and gross. I was worried coming in because a homeless guy with a baseball bat in his backpack was rifling through the garbage cans at 8:00 at night. The rooms are old and dilapidated. I canāt believe they charged me $350 for one night. Iād drive on to Sacramento or Bakersfield before staying here again.

When I entered the room there was a terrible smell, the tv and the remote didnt work and the phone was having issues. They could not fix the TV, remote and phone. I requested another room and was deigned. I stayed the night but the next morning I had breathing issues and went on a search for the culprit. I found mold under the kitchen. I went to check out early and they said there would be a fee charged despite my complaints. I recommended not checking the room out to anyone else since there was mold in the room. I also requested a call from the manager. When I called back later that day to speak to a manager, I found out they had rented the room despite the mold. I called an additional 5 times over the next several days and was always told there was no manager on sight (I know there is always a MOD). I had to reach out to corporate who submitted a ticket. The did refund the room although I was never called by management. When I called corporate to request the point associated with the stay, they informed me that the manager should have called me as it is policy for her/him to do so. I am still waiting on a call regarding the points (no doubt I will never get one). Please do not stay here they do not care about the risks and health of their customers. Additionally, I do not usually throw out my status, but I am platinum and usually get better services because of my frequent travel. I do feel extremely sorry for folks who do not have status and hope that they are not treated worse than I was. I also found out that you cannot write reviews of the site on the Mariott site unless they send you a satisfaction survey. Surprisingly I did not get one. I would suggest not considering their review on the Marriot site since they probably do not send out surveys to folks who complain.
