I wanted to take my Grandkids to the waterpark in Fort Bragg to get out of the heat for a couple days. We reserved rooms for Friday night & Saturday night. I had been promised a downstairs room close to the pool. I called Thursday evening to cancel Friday nights reservation as one of the kids wouldn't be done with football practice until late in the evening. They said that I couldn't get a refund as it had past the 24 hour notice. I told them, "OK, no problem, we will come over early Saturday morning instead". When we arrived early Saturday morning they told me my room wasn't ready. I said "how can it not be ready, it should have been ready last night"? No response. We then had to go kill time in town until the waterpark opened instead of being able to give the kids a nap & eat the picnic lunch that I had packed. Come to find out, they had re-rented MY room to someone else for the whole weekend & then stuck us upstairs in a little tiny room farthest away from the pool. This room was not throughly cleaned from the previous occupants, so I was sure that it had also been rented out for Friday night. 3 small kids running around on the 2nd floor was not fun or relaxing. When I figured out what they had done, I disputed my charges and thought we had it settled, but they still charged my credit card. They also charged more per night that they said. It was $220.00 per night. I will never stay there again, and we have been going there for over 30 years. This new management or owner is horrible. The only people that work there now seem to be teenagers. I will also NEVER recommend this hotel, and it was my main go-to to recommend to anyone & everyone!

I was unfairly charged for smoking in the room. They can clearly check their cameras and see that each and every time I wanted to smoke I went out to their smoking area. Their reason for charging me was that the room smelled of marijuana. Yes I smoke marijuana yes I had marijuana no I did not smoke anything in their room. Nowhere did I see a sign that said no marijuana allowed on premises nor did I see a sign saying no marijuana rolling in the room. Yes, I rolled joints in the room. Yes I had my marijuana with me. Neither of which are illegal but because of this they decided they should charge me $150 without even notifying me. I tried contacting them and they told me that because it smelled of marijuana they have the right to charge me. I wonder how many other people they have done this to.

Old and shows it in paint pealing off the front doors to the rooms and stained floor around the toilet in bathroom. Toilet seat is an amazingly low, 14" off the floor. Wife fell trying to get seated and has a trophy bruise after being pinned between the toilet and bathtub. If that was not enough, we got sick and had to cut our stay short by one day. Informed the front desk more than 24 hours in advance. Their response, sorry once you book and pay for a certain number of days and you check in for the first day, no refunds for any reason if you leave early. We left and they got a $130+ for an empty room. Now to top it off. They sent us this request for a review. Usually we go with the flow and we're going to chalk this one up as life happens. On the other hand, ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE. WON'T BE STAYING HERE AGAIN!

Horrible place horrible location horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE.. Stay away. You've been warned. If you book through online they put you in the very back corner where random people are just standing outside your door and they won't accommodate a room swap to a safer location

We paid $320 (including taxes and fees) for a 2-queen room. It's really a hotel that's worth more like $150 a night, but this was a Saturday in July and we booked the room on Friday night, and there were slim pickings in the town. Put the $$ aside, the room was surprisingly spacious. I think we got lucky and got a large room because we were with others and their rooms were not as large. The beds and bedding were comfortable. There was a Keurig in the room which is nice. The bathroom was really old. Hence the title of my review. The linoleum on the floor was damaged and stained, the faucets hard to operate. The bathroom could really use an upgrade. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly, which is always a big plus when starting a vacation. Check in was smooth and easy. The breakfast was the same poor to mediocre fare you get at all these motels these days. Which explains the exceedingly long wait at the Starbucks down the street.
