Hotel Indigo San Diego Del Mar an IHG Hotel

The incredible staff made this Hotel Indigo so very pleasant . Barbara and Cate at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and Chris at the restaurant was very helpful. The room was clean and lovely, and we enjoyed the view at sunset from the hotel terrace. A convenient location for La Jolla and San Diego.

PROS: The location is great (20-minute walk from restaurants, Seagrove park, and the Del Mar beach entrance), the rooms are newly renovated/decorated, the hotel has a cool beachy vibe, and the front desk staff is very polite. CONS: The light bulbs used in all of the lamps in the hotel room are a very cold white color - please consider changing them to a more inviting and relaxing amber hue. The pillows could use replacing (super limp and lumpy), and the weather stripping on the door is all worn off so the bright light from the outside was coming in all night. The bathroom vanity light cover fell down while we were there and after we reported it to the front desk - it wasn't repaired during our stay. We were in room #308. Ask for an upstairs room and skip the restaurant.

We were met with the best receptionist, Barbara, who has worked there for 23 years. She is so pleasant and accomodating. We also met her 2 years ago when we stayed there also. The room was fabulous with a balcony and could see the later. It was very quiet and parking was abundant. The only issue we had was the bartender on 12/4 in the evening. He was not very pleasant and did have good energy. Other than that the location is perfect and you can enjoy downtown very easily. A favorite of ours for a local getaway.

Everything was great until I looked at my credit card bill and saw that I had been charged an additional $250. When I called I was told it was for smoking in the room - I do not smoke and was definitely not smoking in the room. I am an IHG Diamond member and have never been accused of this. Insane and outrageous!

After reading several negative reviews regarding the hotel I was a little nervous prior to our recent arrival. I can only speak of our own experience and I have nothing but praise for our experience! The hotel is immaculate. Ample on site parking and excellent facilities including on site Spa and convenience store. The hotel offers spacious rooms with great ocean views. Both North and South buildings have positives and disadvantages indeed we could not fault our room (211). Great Ocean Views and with the “lookout” next door, no better spot for sunsets over the pacific! I would 100% recommend this hotel! Extremely Spacious rooms and very clean!
