Cambria Beach Lodge

This charming, remodeled lodge in Cambria is a fantastic find for the price, offering oceanfront views, excellent service, and thoughtful amenities. While the rooms are older, they are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, with recently remodeled bathrooms and plush towels. The $12 daily amenity fee is well worth it, providing access to bikes, a light but high-quality breakfast, and an impressive coffee and tea selection (including oat milk, almond milk, raw sugar, and real honey). The staff is outstanding—genuinely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about local attractions, from the nearby scenic trails along the ocean to Hearst Castle and wineries. The lobby is cozy and inviting, with a small seating area, a wood burning fireplace and majestic windows that overlook the ocean. The lobby offers complimentary coffee and tea for guests. Despite catering primarily to couples, the hotel was incredibly welcoming to families, making it a versatile choice for different types of travelers. For those seeking a relaxing, oceanfront getaway with easy access to nature and small-town charm, this is a 5-star stay. If you appreciate friendly service, a well-thought-out guest experience, and an unbeatable location, this Cambria gem should be on your travel list.

The stay there was nice, then they double charged us for the room and can't even find the charge to my credit card in their system. We made our reservation through the Hyatt web site and used points for our night's stay. Later I discovered they charged us for the stay. I called them and left an explanatory message on their voice mail, which was ignored. I then contacted visa to dispute the charge and sent them the paperwork showing we had already paid for the hotel. Their website says it will be April before it's resolved. I contacted Hyatt and their customer service department is looking into it. I'm so tired of these ridiculous, "We'll look into it." and "We can't find your data." I've spent an hour of my life on this so far. I'm including my time and expenses in any small claims case I may file if this is not resolved quickly. So sick of these irreversible errors. If your system is so brittle that you can't find and correct mistakes when the data is handed to you then you need a different system.

First of all the general manager and staff at Cambria Beach Lodge is wonderful and made us feel so welcome as we visited at the height of the LA wildfires . They offered discounts for people coming from LA and were extremely accommodating They are located right on Moonstone Beach Moonstone Beach and there is a deck where you can lounge on beds or chairs to watch the sunsets. The first room we stayed at was small and basic and could’ve used a bit of up. I would recommend asking for a room with a fireplace and fridge. Rooms were clean. Breakfast and access to bikes are available for a small fee. Overall, we had a lovely three day stay in beautiful moonstone beach, Cambria.

You can't beat the location, across the street from the beach and in view of incredible sunsets--it's the best thing about this place. A bit overpriced for the size and decor of the room (spartan); small additions like a luggage rack would have made all the difference, as there's really nowhere to open your bag, or to put your stuff besides a small hanging rack with a shelf. The front desk staff was very genial and helpful. There's a great communal deck to sit and watch the ocean from, and it's minutes from the downtown strip.

The place charged extra on my credit card without discussion or approval and then removed my access to write review on the platform I booked it on ... Also, I booked two rooms but initially they only gave us only one room ... after a few hours they finally gave us the second room they did not see initially in their system.
