Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport an IHG Hotel

Building was old and rooms need updating for sure. Mattress was hard. Room curtains was dusty and was getting stuck on the rail so hard to open. The shower dial was set up wrong so you’re making the water cold when it says turn to hot. The toilet clogged the first time we used it and we called for maintenance and all he did was hand us the plunger for us to do it ourselves. The flush was sluggish the whole time. Good thing I bought my own towels and sheets cuz some of the towels didn’t look white and I didn’t trust the bed being clean at this point. Their mini store was completely bare except for bottles of water that cost 6$ea. jacuzzi wasn’t working the day we were there. All in all, the price was the cheapest around the area. It was just good for one night stay which is what we needed. But I think if you’re going for comfort and peace of mind, I’d pay a little extra for another hotel around the area that’s more updated and cleaner.

I can list about 10 things wrong with this hotel but the one major plus is enough to “tolerate” the bad. We did a park and stay on the way flying out. The room rate plus 15 days of parking saved us about $900 if we had flown out of LAX. This was the biggest plus and would probably stay here again for that factor alone if the pricing was the same. The parking was fine. Our vehicle wasn’t messed with. When we returned from our trip, we stayed another night. The rooms we stayed in were 411 and 811, and both were similar. Small. Horrible water pressure. Dated furnishings and decor. Stained curtains. 411 was LOUD!! Heard every plane take off. 811 faced freeway but wasn’t as loud. You’ll definitely need earplugs either way. The food at the restaurant is mediocre at best. The servers don’t care if you’re there or not. The bar closes at 10:30 and the drinks are weak. The front area has a place for drinks and snacks but it’s empty. Long check-in lines with manager walking around with his little Pomeranian dog. Shuttle runs a little slow, so plan to take an earlier one than you think you need.

I’ll admit, the reviews had me a little nervous before my stay, but I booked through a Priceline PriceBreaker deal, so I couldn’t pick the hotel or change it. Luckily, the Crowne Plaza ended up being perfect for my needs. The airport shuttle was quick, reliable, and right on time, making transportation seamless. My room was clean, comfortable, and even had a view of the bay and park. The bathroom was spotless and surprisingly spacious, with a full vanity, much better than what I’d seen in the pictures. The only minor downside was that the hallways looked a little dated, and the older glass signage was somewhat hard to read. But overall, none of that took away from my stay. I’d absolutely book here again when flying in and out of SFO!

As a commuting flight attendant, I always love to stay at this hotel. It’s affordable, clean, great location, airport shuttle, very very comfortable beds, etc. My last stay was above & beyond with the front desk hospitality. Keil welcomed me back with such kindness & really made me feel right at home. Employees like her make the travel process so much better! This hotel is my staple hotel now when commuting between working flights.

Hmmm. This hotel is close to airport and offers a free shuttle. The bed and linen were fine. There is a freeway walkover very close which takes you to some restaurant choices. Staff was friendly enough. But hotel itself is outdated. Halls seem sad as you go to your room.
