Motel 6 Buena Park CA Knotts Berry Farm Disneyland

On the day of my arrival, I reached your property at approximately 10:30 AM, having traveled for six hours from Northern California with my elderly mother. Although I was aware that the standard check-in time is 3:00 PM, I politely inquired whether an early check-in might be possible for an additional fee. Unfortunately, I was met with an extremely unprofessional and dismissive attitude by Michelle at the reception. Not only did she curtly state that there were no available rooms regardless of payment, but she also insisted that I leave a positive review via the QR code displayed at the front desk—a practice I find both inappropriate and coercive, as reviews should be given voluntarily after a guest’s stay. This experience was particularly disappointing given that during a previous visit just four months ago, I was allowed an early check-in for an extra fee of $15, after verifying room availability. Such inconsistency in service is unacceptable, especially from someone in a role that directly reflects the service quality of your establishment. Later that evening, at around 7:30 PM, I returned to check in with Alex at the reception. Unfortunately, the room assigned to us had a pervasive cigarette odor, which is especially concerning given my mother’s asthma and my own sensitivity to cigarette smoke. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was malfunctioning. When I requested a room change, Alex initially questioned whether we had disturbed the room—such as touching the bedsheets—and even mentioned the possibility of a charge, before reluctantly agreeing to change our room. Having worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years myself, I understand that front-line staff plays a critical role in shaping a guest’s experience. The behavior exhibited by both Michelle and Alex during my stay falls far below the standards I expect from Motel 6, and I believe it reflects poorly on your overall service quality. I trust that you will take this complaint seriously and address these issues with your staff to ensure that future guests do not experience similar problems. I regret to say that I will not be returning to Motel 6 Buena Park based on this experience.

Michelle was very kind and friendly! Would defenitly come back again! There needs to be more employees like her in other motels. Its that great attitude that makes the experience that much better. Thank you for being awesome and never change!

I would not recommend staying at this motel. Room was in very poor condition throughout and the beds were against walls so you could not access both sides. Complained to reception after check-in that the room was far from acceptable but as it was after 18.00 and we had booked online reception refused to refund the room fee! We were due to stay for five nights but cancelled the next four nights and will not be returning, ever. Not the way to run a Motel or to treat customers.

THIS IS THE WORST MOTEL 6, I'VE EVER STAYED IN, IN MY LIFE.. First thing, there was NO HOT WATER for the 1st night of my stay. Second, the room was so outdated and small that, I was surprised there was cable-(which was trash as well, by the way). And lastly, there is laundry facilities there but, it's $4.00 to wash AND $4.00 to dry.. WHAT????.. For the price, IT WAS TERRIBLE. Will NEVER stay there again.. Thank you!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Howard Johnson in Buena Park. The room was nice and clean. It’s very close to several restaurants and fast food. It’s also right down the street from Knotts berry farm. Overall I would stay there again.
