The Genevieve

Lovely hotel outside, extremely rude front desk host inside. The hotel has the outward appearance of being really beautiful. Unfortunately it is run like a cheap motel, and is quite expensive for what it is. We ended up with a room that had an enormous crack through the entirety of the bathroom mirror. Its dangerous. When we brought it up to the front desk we were told that they were aware and it wasn't a big deal, I should "get over it". That is verbatim what I was told. If I'm spending >$700 a night for a room and I'm being told to "get over it", you lose my business! Also beware of the hidden $40 parking and "passport" charges. What an awful experience....

We held an event at the location. It was a wonderful experience. Easy for guests to reserve their rooms. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable. Bathrooms were "spa-like"! We enjoyed the wine hour and dessert hour! Super comfortable, great location, a gem of a hotel and I would highly recommend it!

The place was totally charming, with understated elegance and such spacious rooms! Beautifully appointed throughout, and the bathrooms are some of the most luxurious I've seen. Dinner at the Victor was delicious and perfectly paced. The hot food came out hot just as I like it, and the wine service was exceptional. The best stay experience we have had in the area. We will definitely be back!

Charming well located inn with super passport for olive oil and wine tasting. Front desk staff did not smile, and were not friendly, they did their jobs. Breakfast wait staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the amenities are quite nice, especially the dry sauna.

Wonderful boutique inn situated in the heart of Santa Ynez, within easy walking distance of a number of good restaurants, shops and wine tasting rooms, and a short drive to numerous wineries. The hotel and grounds are maintained immaculately, with very comfortable rooms and large well equipment bathroom. Our room (luxe king) included a fireplace and small balcony. Cooked-to-order breakfast and cold buffet was excellent. We enjoyed the wine reception on 2 of our 3 nights, though there was only a choice of 1 white and 1 red wine. A large selection of cheese and crackers was also provided each night. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. We will definitely return to The Genevieve.
