Extended Stay America Suites Bakersfield California Avenue

Stayed there one night n I wouldn't go back. I have a small dog so we called they told us the extra price for him which was fine then we get there n they tell us a higher price. After we started getting our bags out the n homeless people kept staring at us. We go in the room n had dirty sheets it was not clean at all. My sister said there was too much activity outside that she didn't get a well rest. Definitely don't recommend if u want peace of mind. Pay a little more to stay somewhere else.

I was just told by a front desk representative that only management has the keys to the mailbox and cannot check the mail themselves, I have living here since March and I love the hotel, don't get me wrong. The staff is polite and attentive and is very prompt when you ask for something like garbage bags or toilet paper and a box of tissues. But I was never told that only the management has the key to the mailbox. I thought it was a federal law that we were supposed to receive our mail every day. I have never heard of such a thing until today. I thought that it was a federal law to get mail Monday through Saturday.

I made a reservation with this hotel for later this month as I am traveling through Bakersfield over the end of May. The manager, Anna, called to tell me that they were cancelling my existing reservation as the sold the room to someone else. I now understand why this hotel has so many poor ratings. Anna was extremely rude and said that it was their policy is to cancel existing reservations when they have large groups. Not a very good business model. I will never spend a penny of my money with extended Stay America again.

Filthy, unsafe, exceptionally rude staff. There have been situations in my travels where I had to sleep in my car. I will sleep in my car once more before I ever stay at this crap hole. Hookers, people going through the dumpster, a line of guys sitting on the ground drinking in the hallway. The lobby door doesn't have a handle, only a deadbolt. You have to talk through a phone on the wall like in jail. What's that tell you?

This place is disgusting. My husband stayed here one night, had to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up to check him in, the room had sliced up chairs and holes in the wall. He asked to be put in a non smoking room, they said it would cost more??? It was listed as having shuttle service from the airport (Priceline) it doesn't. Do yourself a favor, don't stay here!!
