My dad and I had just landed in the country from Australia and we didn't realise our arrival time was 4am! The staff were amazing and friendly, they let us check in super early and apologised when it was my error in communication! Truly beautiful landscape. The best introduction to our first time in America.

The Explorer Cabin we stayed in was just big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The cabin was quiet, in a woodsy setting overlooking a small lake. We especially enjoyed the continental breakfast (complimentary) in the clubhouse - a great way to start the day. Some people may not like that the cabins are an about a quarter of a mile from the main lodge. However, there's a nice walking path to the hotel, and it's a one minute drive. We liked being away from the more hectic atmosphere in the main hotel. Food at Jackelopes was good but not a lot of variety and a bit overpriced. All in all, we would return - naturally beautiful location for exploring Yosemite!

The hotel was beautiful, in amazing perfect surroundings…. The staff on the front desk completely dulled our experience. We had a party of 5, over 2 rooms. When we booked, we requested rooms together, followed by a phone call 4 weeks prior to travel, both of which, we were told our request was going to be honoured. It wasn’t. Not only was it not, the lady on front desk told us we had not requested this, and were lying, and the hotel was full, so nothing could be done… we were at opposite ends of the resort! She then fetched someone else, who clearly did not want to come from the office, she said the same, then after a conversation, miraculously moved us a little nearer together, and turned around and walked away, clearly with an attitude. So we were on different floors, but at least in the same wing. Day 2…. We went out and had an amazing day, to return to the rooms not made up. We called down to reception to be told, we opted out of this. Again, not the case, then we were told this had to be requested… on check in, we were asked if we wanted the room servicing, which we said yes please…. We told this to reception, and again, we were told that we were lying, and not asked for this, when in fact we were offered and accepted it! Since when in a hotel do you have to asked for a room to be made up??? These 2 instances dulled our visit, and we will never return to this beautiful place, simply because of the staff and poor organisation.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Tenaya. We booked a cottage. It was a beautiful location and a quick walk to the main lodge. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool & hot tub. They loved the s’mores at the firepits, as well as the rock climbing wall. The restaurant was great. It was the perfect rustic yet clean and convenient setting for a stay at Yosemite.
