The Pierpont Inn

First the person at the front desk was great! Friendly, efficient, and helpful. The location is pretty good a 15 min walk to the beach. I even splurged for the ocean view. But the view is through a side window over the freeway, then the ocean. And it is pretty noisy from 101 being so nearby. I have been at other hotels as close to a freeway with no problem, but this is an older property, so likely less soundproof. That meant I couldn't leave the windows open to cool the room at night, so i tried the AC. Running full, it cooled the temp from 75 to 72, but NO lower (I had it set at 69 degrees). Sigh. The workout room is tiny with only 1 bike, 1 stepper, and 2 treadmills. And the bike wouldn't work, just kept saying "press enter." I was. I was. It is old-fashioned outside doors, which is not a problem but for awareness. I will say the beds were Amazing! Comfortable, clean, updated. I do agree that was the best spent money. Some other furnishings showed some wear but the room was clean with a good size mini fridge and microwave. It was ok, maybe even good (just for the bed alone), just not great.

Stinky. I’ve stayed here 3 times and the odor is worse each time. I thought each time it was unique to the room but 3 different rooms same problem. The location is good, the price is fair but the amenities and overall ambience are substandard. Too bad. It could be a beautiful historic place

Do not stay at Pierpont! They lied about price matching 3rd party apps, & kept my 100. deposit eventhough I did not have a pet. There was a large gap under door, (room 209) with loud ice machine adjacent to our room. It was also loud because of being next to the freeway. Every noise traveled into room through gap under door. It smelled like mold/ mildew as soon as I entered. I had to hurry to an event after check in, so I couldn't change rooms until next day. My son & I have asthma & allergies, so mold is dangerous. I had to ask 3 different times to change rooms because the morning employee failed to call me when another room opened up. I had to ask the night time employee again & he had no notes regarding my request. The next room was smaller (1bed), & the AC was broken -no one came to help fix after I called front desk. The Manager was rude, & unprofessional. They don't take cash, so I had to go buy a prepaid visa card to stay there, making me late for an event. I asked for a partial refund to go in my bank card, not the prepaid because it was not reloadable. After some research I found out refunds are ok. I communicated to the manager that I misspoke and he could refund the prepaid card, but he concluded that I was too inconsistent and therefore refused to speak with me or grant a refund. This place has gone way down hill. Also, its been under construction for years & barricaded off in the middle. It's a long walk for a basic, overly seasoned breakfast. It has a skeleton crew, & a sketchy feel. It feels like it's about to go out of business. Definitely, not what it once was 40 yrs ago!

The inn is next to the ocean AND the highway. It was way too noisy. I had a hard time sleeping. The room smelled stale and in need of modernization. The room wasn’t cleaned during our visit; the manager told me we had to specifically request this service. I won’t stay there again.

I love the location of the 'PI' which is why I selected it, & the rates were surprisingly good. UNfortunately, that was the high point of the place; Ocean views and landscaping. The hallways leading to the rooms had an odor of 'mustiness' wafting about. Just a very stale, unpleasant smell. Seeing how OLD the bldng. is, very well could've been mold. There was paint chipped everywheres, the doors, were dated & unkempt looking. The rooms themselves were nothing special. Again, a 'stale' odor about. This place is essentially, a glorified Motel. Take your money right across the Hgwy. & have a much more enjoyable sexperience @ the 'Crowne Plaza'. Fantastic ocean views. Stayed there many times. Get a high floor. Sometimes you get what you pay for.....won't be returning to the Pierpont. I
