Motel 6 Sunnyvale CA North

Rooms are what you would expect for a budget hotel. No towels at the pool and the washing machine is perpetually broken. The staff is rude and continually trying to upcharge. It is a hard pass for us in the future.

I have been going to Motel 6 Sunnyvale North every week for the last few months because it is conveniently located next to my office. Recently, the rooms have become really cold. No matter what temperature is set on the heating/AC unit, the room never gets above around 65 degrees. This was the same for other rooms in this motel, because every week I was staying in a different room but the low room temperature was the same. I even started sleeping in my sweater and considered bringing a comforter from home to the motel. I think the low temperature may be set by the motel management/owners to save on heating costs.   I reported this issue to Ms. Preity at the reception and asked whom I can contact about the low room temperature. She gave me the Motel 6 phone number for reservations, but refused to give contact information for anybody responsible in the motel. I mentioned that I may write a review about the low room temperature. She later called to say that there is one room with higher temperature and asked if I wanted it for one night. I declined because it would not be worth the hassle. I wanted the room temperature fixed for all rooms since I was planning on staying at this motel regularly in the coming weeks.   A few days later, I made an online reservation for the next week. When I arrived to check-in, a gentleman at the reception I see regularly was surprised that my check-in didn’t go through. He then found out that someone put me on the Do Not Accommodate List for the motel. Ms. Preity then came and refused to check me in.

Rooms really clean and the surrounding area was nice. Front office staff very nice and helpful. Pet friendly also has a Burger King on site. Free parking and coffee In the morning. Convenient to other restaurants and shopping.

I spent 2 nights here on a business trip. Conveniently located right off highway 101 and within 20 minutes to most high tech companies in the area. I attended a conference in San Jose and this hotel was an easy commute away. Rates were affordable and my room was comfortable. Rooms were basic (just soap, no shampoo, conditioner, etc) but clean.

I was extremely disappointed by the overall quality of the room and the amenities given the price point. It was grossly over priced with the exception that it Silicon Valley lodging is generally expensive. I will never return. The walls were so paper thin, I could hear every text message and email alerts from neighboring rooms along with all the other commotion. There was zero privacy, no sense of safety and it felt like a truck stop rest stop. Ammenities provided were a cheap bar of soap and 2 plastic cups wrapped in plastic. Not even a full sized towel. If I would of known I would have brought my own everything with me. It was simply depressing and I wish I would have saved the money and slept in my car.
