Motel 6 El Monte CA Los Angeles

We needed an animal friendly solution during our sudden evacuation from the first night of the Eaton Fire and this hotel was inexpensive and allowed large dogs. We originally thought we would have 2 older adults with mobility issues with us and had booked 3 rooms as a contingency plan as the fires got closer. Once the winds picked up and the evacuation orders came out we were able to find a safe and more comfortable solution for the other 2 folks in our party and their small dog. The two women who checked us in at the front desk understood our situation and contacted their manager after 11pm when we checked in to refund the other two rooms for us due to the circumstances, which was very kind of them. The staff was compassionate and understood we were in a crisis, which is more than I can say for the place we tried to move to the next day due to wanting what we thought would be a more comfortable room for us (the stairs were difficult for us and our dog with all our gear and we didn't want to leave all our valuables in the car as this Motel 6 is not in the nicest of areas). See my review of the inhumane and devoid of compassion treatment we received at what we would thought would be an upgraded experience at the Days Inn by Wyndham West Covina. If you need a clean place for a night, this Motel 6 works.

This motel by far is the best on every level in the L.A area. Clean, vending machines working, quiet. They have a grass pet area with a bench and staff is excellent. They dont bang on your door at check out like most others in the L.A area...5 stars for me and im picky.

Stay here off and on. All the staff is wonderful. The price is good and the rooms are clean. Housekeeping and maintenance are on point. And the girls in the office are beyond wonderful. Always smiling and welcoming. One of the better Motel 6 in the area.

The desk staff are great ! Very welcoming, accommodating and courteous!😊 Sofia and Flor are Excellent! I arrived very late and Sofia greeted me with a smile😊 Rooms were clean and the housekeepers did a thorough job daily . Close to the freeway, easy access.

Over priced. Bugs in the bathroom. Bugs in the mini fridge. Towels clumsily squished into the holder. Right next buzzing power lines. All that aside, they literally kicked us out. We asked for a late check out, they gave us 30 minutes when hotel standards in 1 hour. Then the woman knocked on our door, came back 15 minutes after we said we were packing up and leaving. And stood in the door until we left. The cleaning crew were downstairs and on the other side of the hotel. There was no line of people trying to check in. All rooms were prettyuch empty. I've stayed in hotels on 4 different continents, and this was the worst experience. Very rude. Unnecessary. It's a freaking cheap motel 6! Not a Marriott or Hilton or Four Seasons! There was no legitimate excuse for their behavior. And even after we left the room to go check out, the woman came into the lobby to complain about us not leaving. Even though we had not brought up anything to the front desk because we just wanted to get out of such a crappy place. And she continued to argue. I hope management removes her from any other kind of position requiring that requires her to interact with guests.
