The Citizen Hotel Autograph Collection

Stayed for one night to go to the A's game and although there were closer hotels I'm glad we booked this one. It is a beautiful old hotel. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and ours overlooked the park. The bed and linens were so comfortable. A highlight was the staff as no matter who we encountered they were all so nice and welcoming at check in and during the stay. The Grange bar restaurant is pricey but food was good and it was convenient when we came back from the game looking for late night eats. Tips: ask for a corner room. Gym is on the 6th floor.

My husband and I dined at the elegant restaurant at the Citizen Hotel, the Grange, to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed and cared for. Our superb waiter was Tim, who made us feel like we were the most important guests. The food was spectacular and the entire evening was classy and overall wonderful- truly a magical place to be!

Service was great. We ate at the restaurant here in the hotel and the service was phenomenal. Kaitlin was amazing. She was attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious. I recommend the Grange Breakfast. If you are staying downtown Sacramento this is the place to do it.

DO NOT PAY THE $50 FOR THE VALET PARKING!!! I stayed one night and came in my brand new car. I paid for the valet, and then the next morning they brought me my car and it was drenched inside. The valet who parked it left several windows open and it rained all over inside my car. The dash electronics were wet, the door panels, the seats, and the floor had puddles on it. They made no attempt to help me and my wife clean the car, and they just stood there and made excuses. In this process, I found out that—unbeknownest to me—my car was not even parked in a secured parking structure. All they do is park it down the street in a public lot, where you can pay about $20 yourself. And they didn't even lock my car!!! I was appalled by this lack of concern and security.
