Courtyard by Marriott Palm Desert

I wanted to speak to management about current issues with my stay, but I was told "they weren't in today." (This was Sunday 3/9/25) Apparently, there's new managers overseeing these properties, but none of them felt like working over the weekend! I should have just saved the money and stayed at a Motel 6!

While we were "upgraded" to a suite, the sofa bed and sitting chair in the living room portion of the suite were disgustingly dirty. The mattress on the king bed was obviously worn out. I am sure the mattress upholstery underneath the sheets was dirty as well. The body wash dispenser was empty. The shower had no safety rail. The whole place seemed outdated and gross, not up to Marriott standards at all.

The hotel is average at best. There was no hot water for showers. The small refrigerator ended up being a freezer. The staff is nice. I would not stay here again, when so many other options are available. We didn’t not use the pool or eat at the bistro. The Bistro's didn’t open until 5 which was too late for what we need.

We stayed three nights at the Courtyard Palm Desert and we enjoyed it. The room was nice and spacious, which was great for the three of us to spread out in. The room was updated, but the bathroom definitely was not (old school tub & fixtures). We had a mini-fridge, but no microwave—there was a microwave in the lobby you could use. Breakfast for two was included with our stay—basically you place your order at the Starbucks counter and wait for it. Decent selection on the menu and everything we had was good. Service was incredibly slow, so one morning we just didn’t have time for the long wait and had to skip breakfast. Usually there was only one or two staff to take orders and make the food and there was always a long line. Some mornings there was complimentary banana bread and smoothies, which was really nice. Both the front desk staff and the manager were so friendly and helpful—we appreciated their kindness! Finally, we loved the pool. The water was as warm as bathwater and there were lots of lounge chairs in both the sun and shade. We enjoyed one really perfect pool afternoon, which was a nice break from a lot of hiking!

IF YOU HAVE A PET, DO NOT STAY HERE. You will be scammed. It's a rundown old hotel, and your pet will be blamed and charged 250 dollar miscellaneous fees for the dirty furniture and broken curtains, that were already broken.
