Best Western California City Inn & Suites

We stayed overnight here while most of the extended family were camping a few miles away in the desert. The hotel was clean, upgraded, nicely furnished and equipped, a real pleasure to return to after a day in the dirt. We were at the tail end of breakfast, so we missed waffles, otherwise it offered a nice selection of breakfast options. Our fellow travelers were likely also most interested in getting back out to off-road adventures so everyone was quiet. Bed was great. Will definitely come again when the family camps out.

The lifts were broken so we had to lug our bags up stairs. The helpful receptionist assisted us though. The room had a very tired carpet and sofa bed with stains on (which I was told was like sleeping on a bed of nails). The bathroom was nice though. I was erroneously checked out of the room as the hotel thought I was part of a large early-leaving party. I hear others speak to the desk about the same thing. Very poor. Serves one of the best complimentary breakfasts we had on our road trip. Fruit, eggs 2 ways, waffles and good cereal options. Overall could do with an update but options are limited in Cal City

Best Western introduced me to the caliber and values of most people I met in California City! So good was the first days experience that when given another job in Bakersfield the next day, I rebooked 60 miles from the next job at the same Best Western!

We were given a tiny room above the lobby. We were shocked how small it was, and we are rewards program members. We could not open our 2 suitcases at the same time due to furnishing constrictions. The window view was blocked by the shelter over the lobby parking. It was very quiet, the bed was comfy, and we slept well. The bathroom shower was one of my wife's favorites of all time; adjustable water and roomy. When open, the bathroom door blocked the main room door which was weird and awkward. The breakfast was typical. Downstairs they were replacing the common area flooring and the work looks good. Pool was closed.

Only thing is i WISH there was room service for people with anxiety and i wish checkout time was more around 1 or 2 pm instead of 11am if i am paying 130+ a night i wanna be able to leave when i want during the day
