The hotel is located on the outer edge of town. But its mere minutes from downtown or Oaklawn Park Casino. The hotel is a two floored up to the door motel. The rooms are fine. The TV is tiny. The remote didn't work so you had to turn it on and off manually which is not the worst thing ever. The bathroom is tiny. Shower was good. Sink on outside of bathroom. The maid staff didn't bother to clean the room after the first day. The walls are thin thus the next-door neighbors were loud when they came home obviously a bit intoxicated. All in all, it was a good stay for not a lot of money.

There was no hot water only warm water, so a relaxing bath is out of the question. The beds are horrendous. Rock hard with squeaky spring mattresses that make noise every time there is a movement. No light outside the ice machine. Since it located in an area that is pretty much enclosed on one side that should be a must for guest safety. If you are put on the hwy side of the hotel you will hear all the hwy traffic. Most importantly - Families should not be put in a room that conjoins with another room that is booked ESPECIALLY if the hotel is not busy! The locks on the conjoining doors need work! We have stayed at this hotel every year for at least the last 8 years when we visit Hot Springs but next year we will stay elsewhere.

I picked this hotel because I read about the hiking trails right behind the property. It was the perfect spot for us. The National Park trails are basically all accessible from right behind the hotel. Thatâs the Grand Avenue trail. We connected to the Mountain Springs Trail and the Reserve Trail also. We needed another day to go the other direction to Gulpha Springs and Goat Rock Trail, but you can do them all from here and not have to hunt for parking. You can even hike to the Grand Promenade above Bath House row from the hotel! The room was large. Yes, the hotel is older but it was clean and well maintained. We had a large area where it would have been nice to have chairs or a love seat, but we made it work. We were here for Thanksgiving weekend, so obviously the pool was closed, but we thought the whole area was really nice and inviting. Breakfast was okay, but no meat. Only hot food is waffles. Coffee was good, but after 2 mornings of their breakfast, we went to the McDonalds just 3/4 mile up Grand Avenue. Parking was plentiful and grounds were good. Only complaint would be that we booked a non smoking King Pool side room (210), but the people in the room next door were chain smoking right outside their door our first 2 days here, so we had to walk through that and smell it every time we came or went or walked our dog. Noise inside the room wasnât bad. We kept the fan running and we slept well. Good walk in shower with plenty of hot water and great pressure. Mattress firm like we prefer. We had outlets on both sides for phone chargers. We would definitely stay here again. Itâs so close to downtown and bath house row, plus awesome restaurants. The dog had a fantastic vacation also, which is why we usually book red Roof Inn.

Strayed in your basic non-smoking double sized bed, double room. Clean room. Only thing I would comment is if you are an individual who has trouble going from a sitting to standing position you might have an issue with the toilet as it is extremely low to the ground. Breakfast is typical Continental style. They have a sign posted that it is to be eaten in their dining area and not taken to the room.

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend due to it being the only hotel within budget at the time. We ultimately experienced two rooms here because our first room on initial inspection was as expected. However in the morning, the shower was no longer working. Thankfully the staff was able to provide us with another room with a working shower. Our first room was ok but the bathroom was not as clean as weâd like either but wasnât anything we couldnât handle. It happened to be a handicap accommodation with a connecting door to another room which was unexpected. We do wish that was made more clear in the listing. Unfortunately the bathroom only came with conditioning shampoo and shower gel. They really need to have a separate shampoo and conditioner. The containers that they sit in on the all are also so hard to push to get product out. If you can, just bring your own products. If anything, there is a Walgreens close by to get what you need. The rooms also had a couple of flys that we ended up having to swat at. AC units were a bit loud but not enough to interrupt sleep. Once we had a room with a working shower we were pleased with the water pressure. Beware, the rooms walls are paper thin, so if you have a loud neighbor you will hear them. The rooms also came with a fridge and microwave in case you had brought some goodies with you. There are also vending machines with snacks and an ice machine. You can also set up a meal in the courtyard that sits just outside the pool area. I donât believe the pool is heated but given the temperatures it was unbearable. I do wish they had the net around the pool area to help clean and skim the bugs out. I definitely would have used it had I seen it. They could benefit from keeping the pool cleaner. I noticed some algae and debris on the bottom of the pool. This is also a pool without a lifeguard but they do have a safety ring and telephone for emergencies. In terms of breakfast, it was lacking. They had a lot of carbs like cereal, toast, and waffles. However the waffle machines didnât have the spray out when we were making breakfast so it got stuck and ruined the waffles we made. The free breakfast area could use some updates. For example. There was a table for one of the waffle makers that they should get rid of and instead install a counter in that area to create more breakfast area space. There were no eggs and sausage which could be an easy addition to their breakfast buffet. They do have a sign to keep breakfast there but I say you take what you want if you are staying there, especially if you are on a hike, those snacks are good to have on you should you need them. The location is ok, but not great unless you enjoy being away from the central location of the national park. Itâs not walking distance either. However it is quiet and an a hot day we found the pool to be quiet during the day and had it all to ourselves.
