I was severely disappointed. My husband and I try to stay at the basin every year for our Anniversary, but this year is still causing problems. We took a group of friends, so we ad two rooms. It was very pricey, but I love the place so I thought , itās fine. Well I was embarrassed because the room I wasnāt staying in , had a mold problem in the shower. I had raved about this place to my friends for months, so that was awful. What made it worse was the hot tub in the spa deck. It looked cloudy and had a couple bugs, but it smelled like chemicals so I thought it would be fine. Well two days after I left I got a call from my friends that they had to go to the doctor and had bacterial infections. I also had to go and my doctor said it was likely from the hot tub. As of 4/25/25 my closest friend is still on antibiotics and cannot get rid of the infection. My husband and I will sadly have to find somewhere else to stay for our anniversary from now on. * I did call the hotel about the hot tub and they said they would clean it but that was it.

The hotel is full of history and they know how to tell you about it! We had a blast here - the food was good, the people were friendly and we didnt have any trouble at all! The only "glitch" we had was trying to "unload" upon arriving - the loading and unloading 15 min parking spot on the street was continusly full -- just have patience :)

My husband and I stayed in a king suite for his birthday, looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing getaway. This trip was much needed as it was our first trip in years, and we were excited to enjoy the charm of the hotel and the beautiful location, which we absolutely loved. The suite was quaint and had character. While we expected an older style, we did encounter a few issues. The toilet often ran and needed to be fixed which we could do. The most difficult part of our stay, though, was the noise. Our room was directly beneath what we were told was the bar, and the sound of chairs dragging, footsteps, and loud thuds lasted until around 3 a.m. both nights and started again early in the morning. Even as heavy sleepers, it was nearly impossible to get a restful night. Construction right outside our window also added to the disruption. We paid nearly $1,000 for two nights, and unfortunately, it didnāt feel like the relaxing experience we had hoped for. Service was mixed. Alex at the front desk was fantasticāfriendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, we received conflicting information from other staff members regarding what was included in our package, which caused some confusion and led to us needing to push to get what we had already paid for. That part of the experience was disappointing. The spa, however, was incredible. From start to finish, everything about that part of our trip exceeded expectations, and we were so impressed with the staff and the overall experience. After leaving our initial review, we were contacted by management. They took the time to hear our concerns and made an effort to make things right, which we truly appreciated. It was clear they care about guest satisfaction and take feedback seriously. While the stay didnāt go as planned, weāre grateful for how the situation was handled after the fact and hope this helps improve the experience for future guests.

As we drove up to the hotel, we were excited to stay there due to its location, age and history of the building. First off, there is absolutely no parking and only a small area to unload your car and you are only given 10 minutes to park there. Then you have to drive about a mile away to a parking lot and a shuttle eventually picks you up. This hotel is very, very old and in need of some major upgrades. The interior is dark and drab and very uninviting. The hallways are scarey dark. Our room was on the fifth floor and is painted a dark depressing color. The bathroom is small and has absolutely no room for your toiletries. No nightstand on my side of the bed and no outlet close by to charge my phone. But the biggest problem was the noise from the floor above us. A wedding reception was held that night and the floorās creaked so bad, you could hear all the heavy footsteps, you could hear furniture being moved, you could hear carts being rolled around. It was a sleepless night and very frustrating. A person rents a hotel room in order to get a good nights sleep, and this definitely did not happen at this hotel. Upon checkout, we complained and we were told management would look into it.

This is a great historic hotel! It is a comfortable stay in the heart of downtown. The rooms are a good deal, the hotel restaurant is tasty, the bar is a straight up vibe, the staff is professional and friendly, and the hotel itself offers so many fun activities!
