Sleep Inn Phoenix North I 17

The reviews recently that are 1 star are true!! The place is under renovation and the rooms are not as pictured!! The desk clerk was on since morning and was the only one there when I (and others) checked in. A fellow had 3 rooms that he rejected due to not being clean and disrepair. The room 117 that I was to check into was horrible!! Filthy carpet, mismatched bedding and ripped top bed spread, the bathroom was not cleaned. The front deka clerk was covering check in, the phone ringing off the hook and many guest requests for not enough towels, broken TV and door handle, etc. I waited over an hour to maybe get in another room and she said she was going to quit and call the manager -Who never showed up. I left and went to another property. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU DONT CARE ABOUT CLEANLINESS AND A DECENT REPAIR ROOM. I called CHOICE hotels as I am a Choice Rewards member and they have yet to make it right after speaking with 5 different people.

This place is a dump. They say they are doing renovations but continue to rent rooms that are disgusting. Mold in the shower, dirty rooms. The halls smelled like marijuana. There is either drug dealing or prostitution going on. People were knocking at our door in the middle of the night , these people looked shady. People were sneaking in behind other people hoping they wouldn’t be seen. STAY AWAY from this place.

Too many issues to go into detail about but here's a few. Shower was filthy and disgusting -- we would not use it. Toilet did not flush half the time. We had someone knocking on our door at 11:00 at night. Lots of activity & noise in the hall way in the middle of the night. The next day we had people banging on our room door 4 times within an hour. Many other patrons seemed very sketchy. Very strong smell of pot in the hallway even though it is a non smoking hotel. We felt very very unsafe. Also there is a side door to exit the hotel and everytime we used it, the door was ajar. This would allow anyone to enter the hotel and avoid the front desk. This door was right by the elevator. This does not create as safe environment. We checked out on day two and spoke to management. Would not offer any sort of refund. Everything about this hotel is awful. The pictures I have included do not even do justice to how digusting the shower was.

I can not fathom why this place is open for business when most of it is inhabitable due to the ongoing construction. My room was in the middle of all the work. I asked for another room and got another filthy room, got another, and this one came with a folding bed. I can go on and on listing all of the basic things one would come to expect at minimum from a decent hotel provider but in summary, this one has zero comfort and amenities.

All the staff were polite and friendly. The other guests were nice to be around at breakfast. And the room was clean and comfortable and had a great shower. I look forward to staying here again very soon. Also breakfast was great. And inside the building was warm and inviting.
