This was our first time staying in a Microtel because, honestly, our impression of the brand wasnât that great. But when we just basically needed a place to crash for 8 hours or so, and I saw the price, I was intrigued. As often happens, curiosity got the better of me and we decided to find out for ourselves if Microtels were actually as bad as we expected them to be. So after staying in this one, the answer is⌠yes and no. First, the bad. Check-in was a complete mess. The gentleman checking us in was very nice, but the computers were pretty much non-functioning. After driving all day, it took an excruciating 15-20 minutes to check in. When we finally got into our room, we just wanted to crash and unwind with a little TV before catching some sleep. Unfortunately, the TV (in room 407) didnât work. So we climbed into the very small bed, and just went to sleep for a few hours before grabbing some breakfast and getting back in the road. Unfortunately, the breakfast contained zero protein. No meat at all. The only way to get hot water for some oatmeal was to heat water in the one very busy microwave. We decided to just skip breakfast. As for the good, the AC was a champ. We like it cold at night, and the AC was very cold and very powerful. Thatâs becoming a rarity in hotels, sadly. The bed and furniture were comfortable, if small, and everything seemed pretty clean. Overall, perfectly acceptable for a quick stay. -The PowerTrippers

The room was clean, staff friendly and it was so close to plenty eating options as well as the cruise port. I would stay there again without hesitation. The fact that they offered smoking rooms was also completely awesome for me as it meant no trips downstairs and outside in the middle of the night or early morning.

We were evacuating for Hurricane Helene and stayed at this location for 2 nights. We were originally supposed to check in on Thursday, but decided to leave a day early and check in on Wednesday instead. When we arrived Wednesday night, we were greeted by Mr. Nate. There was some sort of mixup with our reservation for that evening, but Mr. Nate was fantastic and managed to get two rooms booked for my family for that night. He gave me all of the information I needed to check into the 2nd reservation in the morning and was extremely kind and helpful overall. The next morning I spoke with Ms. Amanda the GM about our 2nd reservation. It turned out I had accidentally booked a smoking room, which was not going to work for my family as I have an asthma/allergy child. Amanda was also extremely kind, patient and helpful, even though she was incredibly busy. Amanda gave me all of the information I needed to stay up to date on the situation and was available for me to check back with her several times throughout the morning. In the end, she was able to work it out so we didn't even have to change rooms, and we were good to go for that evening's stay. Evacuating from a storm is so stressful, but Mr. Nate and Ms. Amanda were so kind and helpful to get everything set for my family. Thank you so much!

We had a good night sleep. We only stayed for 1 night. The room was very clean and the floor was quiet. There was absolutely NO mold or smoking odor. The bed was very comfortable too. The only thing we would have like to have is hot food - scramble eggs and bacon was not an option.
