Hampton Inn & Suites Prattville

The room is larger than most Hampton Inns and very comfortable, so far. We just arrived. My first impression ….the front desk employee was not friendly or welcoming, perhaps having a bad day. Coffee station was available. There were people ar the pool. Restaurants nearby.

We stay in Hampton Inns regularly. They are usually consistent in their service and quality. However, this particular location has us questioning our choices for the future. We did digital check-in and went straight to our room. When we were entering the room, a dog started barking from across the hall. Had we known this was a pet friendly hotel, we would have opted to stay elsewhere. We called the front desk to only be told that they would do what they could because they were alone and just too busy at the moment. The clerk continued to share how busy it was and that the check-in’s have been constant all night. However, the dog kept barking for the next hour until we fell asleep after turning on our phones to play sound so we could block out the noise. In the morning, we went for the breakfast and were disappointed tremendously when everything was picked over or just empty. No eggs, sausage, milk, bread. You could make a waffle or have pineapple. Apparently the hostess had been asked about the status multiple times because she sighed and responded to another guest that she’s working on it and can’t make the oven work any faster.

This room was a great disappointment. The air conditioning and heater did not work. The television did not work. We stayed two nights, but there was not any service to the room to clean it. We were put into a pet friendly room when we requested no pets room. When we explained all this to the Manager who checked us out, the excuse was that since Covid, a lot of that things have changed. None of this was explained when we checked in except that we had to stay in a pet room bc no others were available - despite a nearly empty parking lot. To be fair, the room was clean and the breakfast area was clean and well supplied.

Internet is very/very slow and unreliable. Had to use hotspot. Good breakfast. Nice staff. I'm not sure on the clean schedule. One of two Elevators was out for the afternoon and was being worked on. Very nice staff. Ample parking. Fan on ac/htr didn't work to be full time.

Started before checking in by getting a phone call with the front desk lady saying “I understand my manager has been talking to you about checking in…” I in fact had talked to no one about checking in. Then the lady proceeds to tell me they’ve ran my credit card three different times and it’s not working- unauthorized runs bc my credit card company then calls to tell me my card has been ran for 3 different amounts, all more then what my reservation states. The front desk lady was rude and not helpful in explaining why this had happened. When arriving she had different reasons why my credit card was ran three times for three different amounts. Room was smelly. Air didn’t cool the room. The air rattled all night. Pillows weren’t comfortable nor was there enough pillows.Hotel is outdated. Will not be staying here.
