Residence Inn by Marriott Birmingham Hoover

Suite was large and very comfortable. Fitness facility was just big enough. Best thing about the stay though we're being greeted by Toya and helped by Quetta on a couple of different occasions. Toya and Quetta both treated us like they appreciated us being guests of the Residence Inn.

Great stay. Hotel allowed online checkin in and key issuance via bonvoy app so we skipped the counter and went straight to the room, which was great for road trippers with young kids arriving late in the evening. Room itself was clean and comfortable. It took a while for hot water to flow the shower, but no big deal. Location is great. Safe and convenient. Breakfast was excellent and the crew kept everything well stocked. Would definitely return!

The hotel itself was very nice but the service was extremely poor. When we initially tried to check inn, we were told to come back later as our room was not ready yet. We had no issue with that, until we received an email while we were waiting that our reservation was going to be cancelled as they couldn’t run the credit card. I had to call the hotel to make sure my reservation was not canceled (the credit card was fine). The next day while out & about, we received another email saying we had been checked out of our room (we had a three day reservation). Again I called the hotel in a panic. After speaking with the same employee who was going to cancel our room the first time around, he informed me he confused my room with another one and then fixed the reservation. I was told that we would have housekeeping services on day 2 of our stay, which never happened. I have always preferred Marriott properties because of the service. Sadly, this property did not meet the Marriott standard in service.

Very nice hotel. Very clean, plenty of dining and shopping nearby and a very comfortable bed! We arrived and were greeted by Darryl, who was awesome and very friendly. The entire staff was happy and welcoming as well.

Very clean property with helpful friendly staff. Excellent location with lots of restaurants and shopping. We were stopping over for the night and will definitely stay at this property again when we travel.
