Hampton Inn Birmingham Trussville

I had read several recent negative reviews about this hotel. I chose to give it a try anyway because of its location and my past experiences with Hampton Inns. I have to say our one-night stay while traveling was very pleasant, The room was basic, but clean and fresh, with no scent of heavy air freshener that you sometimes find at hotels which are trying to cover up pet or smoking odors. The bed was comfortable, the HVAV system worked well, the microwave and fridge were clean, the bathroom was roomy, and featured a tub, which I had requested. The free breakfast offered hot eggs, sausage, grits, and waffles along with various pastries, breads, juice, and coffee. The only areas for improvement I found were the price point at $187 (incl. taxes) for a basic room, which I found high, and the front desk staff who could have had a little more welcoming tone. Overall, I was very pleased with our stay.

The swimming pool was filthy. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to a dip after a long car ride. The room rate was too expensive for this to be the case. Also only one of the computers in the lobby worked and it didn’t work well at all. On a positive note, the room had just been renovated and it was quiet.

The staff were amazing! The breakfast was decent but the room was a huge disappointment! The microwave had ramen noodles with standing juice on the tray! The ice bucket literally had a dirty hand towel and trash in it. Honestly make me question if the covers were changed before we got there. I truly expected more from a Hampton.

One-night stop with the family on a holiday road-trip. The stay was excellent - clean, comfortable room and a good breakfast - eggs, sausage, juices, waffles, cereals, biscuits, etc. For some reason the Wi-Fi didn't work well when I tried it, but I didn't try too hard.

Lobby is clean and smells amazing. Staff is great. Breakfast was delicious. Hallways are dark, only have lights above each room door Not middle lights to brighten the halls. Bathroom water pressure not great at all. Check the door to the bathroom to make sure it closes all the way. Limited outlets to charge phones. It would be nice if the refrigerator was raised up a bit higher instead of in a lower cabinet. It makes it difficult for those of us that can’t bend down on the floor to reach something. No regular sitting chair, only a desk chair to sit in or two cubes that roll around. This location does not have a laundry room. If you need to do laundry do it before checking in.
