Residence Inn by Marriott Tuscaloosa

This is a nice clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Nice vanity area outside of bathroom. Our room had a shower (no tub).The closet was open shelving and included a laundry basket. 2 televisions. The 2 queen room had a separate bedroom from living room and kitchen. There is a sofa in living room area. Nice pool and outdoor space and have the waffles at free breakfast. There is also a small bar in lobby and small market for snacks or forgotten items. This is about 5-7 minute drive on route 82 to University of Alabama. Many food options on Route 82. Loved the Southern Ale House on Rt 82 for a sit down casual dinner.

We choose this Residence Inn because of advertised full breakfast. I went down to breakfast as it opened and there was no fruit at all - no fruit cups, no fresh fruit, nothing. I asked the attendant and he said "sorry we have no fruit in the hotel". I complained but to no avail. Then I came for a hot breakfast and there were no eggs at all. I asked and was told "sorry we ran out". I came back a few minutes later and there were no breakfast potatoes. This is all well before breakfast end time. None were supplied. I spoke with the front desk and he said he was sorry, but had no authority to do anythings or compensate me. He suggested I email the managers (who were absent). I emailed the managers twice, and followed up with a phone call. No response. This is service at its worst

This was my first time staying at this hotel. The hotel itself I would give a 4 star, but the staff is a 5 star. Everyone is so nice and made my stay so pleasant. We encountered one problem with our room and had to call for a maintenance person, Miss Donna (house weeping manager) came and fixed the problem, and not temporarily, She permanently fixed it so the next guest would not have to deal with it like we did. I’m sure she don’t get paid for all she do, because she had to be a plumber in that moment. Another person that puts this place over the top is Miss Gladys in the breakfast area. She went above and beyond to make sure we were good. She surely is one of a kind. Over all a great stay, thanks to the staff!!!

Impressive hotel and staff with fine amenities! The outdoors fire pit lounge area is perfect as well after a busy day. Marriott quality rooms were clean and pristine as always with attentive service. Breakfast was wonderful and cooked, not just heat and serve. Definitely worth a return trip.

The hotel was fine and up to Marriott standards. The staff was very accommodating, and the breakfast was very good. However, the primary reason that I chose this hotel was the advertised complementary EV charging. When I arrived at the hotel EV charging station, there was only EV charging for a fee. I asked the front desk the response was: 'complementary EV charging was the old policy and we haven't updated our website'. I view this as false advertising and it should not be allowed to happen.
